> i still stick to inocybe

I have never seen an Inocybe that did not have a fiberous cap. If it was Inocybe, I would expect splitting near the edges on the drier specimens.

I am not convinced they are really bluing. More pictures of younger specimens would help.

Certainly not C. iodes.

I doubt Inocybe as well.
Just doesn't look right, and spores are too rusty.

I too, do not notice any blue bruising/staining... I see blue, yes, but it does not look like psilocin bluing.

"it does not look like psilocin bluing"

i agree that the blue color is off, its too sky blue and not quite an ink blue.... the color intensified several hours after picking...???
i have seen a similar blue color on pictures of what i think were blue foots, one looked like an easter egg... anyone seen this picture? i know theses are not blue foots but iam curious to see the pic again...

It is not uncommon for mushrooms to become darker after picking. Usually from handling, and loss of moisture.

not a cortinarius for sure. the inocybes have the fibrous cap as curecat said, the conocybe print is good yet i wouldnt have a clue as to what it could be in that group.

Only reason i say conocybe is because of the print, other conocybe species have been ID'd as active yet they seem much bigger than any possible active conocybe ive seen before. I call for workman's expertise. Send it to the lab.

Could you post a pic of a pin sliced in half, showing any veil/cortina thing?

Are the caps slimy when moist?
