Best WR to play the game.
    #7279054 - 08/09/07 09:24 PM (5 years, 10 months ago)

hands down Terrell Owens.

jk... I love watching Marvin Harrison play. IMO he's the best to ever play the position.

Alright, well rice has the better numbers, being 10 years older than Harrison.

No one believes Harrison will overtake Rices' numbers?

Rice 22,895 yards vs. Harrison 13,697 yards
197 TD's vs. 122 TD's
1,549 Rec. vs. 1,022 Rec.

I think Harrison has atleast another 3-4 years of great numbers left in him, but unlike Rice, i think Harrison will probably retire as a Colt.. I dont think he has any reason to ever play anywhere else.

i remember in the late 90s when everyone was sure that ken griffey jr. was going to shatter the home run record.

Griffey Jr. has been injurt plagued his whole career though.. seems like he is always injured.

He's still been able to post pretty good numbers though.

I think it's a reference to my belief that Harrison has a chance to break Rice's records.

that it's too soon to say whether or not harrison will break rice's records.

especially in a sport like football when your career can be ended in a split second.

I still think Harrison is a better WR... he doesnt have the numbers of Rice.. but think about how the colts offense works.. they really spread the ball between 6 people on offense, balanced.

Addai and Rhodes (rhodes is gone)
Harrison, Wayne, Stokely (now Gonzales), and Clark.

thats a lot of offense to keep happy, and those other guys always post great numbers.

Rice was always the go to guy for Young.

EDIT- im not trying to take anything away from Rice, this is an agrument between #1 and #2 all-time for me.

john taylor was a damn good reciever and roger craig was a damn good running back.

not only that but saying that rice was the only weapon that the niners had doesn't really help your case for harrison.

guess the difference is.. harrison is still writing his legacy.

would you say Peyton is the best QB to play? or could be by the end of his career?

Jerry Rice is considered the best to play the game because of his stats, longevity but most importantly, his work ethic. When Harrison turns 40 and is working out 10 hours a day just so he can keep playing? Then we can compare their numbers.

Football season is almost here!

Tom Brady #1 in the league? Are you smoking hashish? Tom Brady is a good QB who makes minimal mistakes and got lucky to be part of a championship system. Throw a lot of QB's in that system with those championship teams those years, and they would have done the same as Brady. I hope the Patriots keep losing a few more seasons, they trade Brady and he bombs in another system.

Manning is by far the most talented QB in the league. I would even go as far as saying talent for talent, Carson Palmer is better than Brady. Shit, a healthy McNabb is better than Brady.

Palmer and McNabb may have more physical talent, but when it comes to things like leadership, decision-making, and on-the-field composure, the only QB who is in the same class as him is Manning.

Harrison is the best because he's from SU.
Shit, him and McNabb were fun as hell to watch for one year in college, I can only imagine the chemistry they'd have now. They should trade him to the Eggles just to satisfy my desires.

you mean like the way brady got onto the field and took a team that probably wouldn't have made the playoffs with bledsoe at the helm and turned them into a championship team?

up until last year peyton manning was the king of choke. just like mcnabb.

you can have all the talent in the world, it doesn't mean shit if you choke in the clutch.

That's what popped into my head when he said that as well.

Plus i always have liked Brady, he's a Michigan QB. :snowman:

1. Manning- Love Peyton.. I just like the way he manages the game and can pick apart a defense.
2. Brady- Could be #1, He's won what 3 rings?
3. Palmer- only because Palmer has never won shit, not even an AFC championship.. and has 2 of the best WR's in the game today with Chad
Johnson and TJ Houshmandz. (sp?)
