Facebook is really huge deal in Toronto. It's in the newspaper at least once a week with some story about children re-united with thier long lost parents... or clues and even confessions about some stabbing at a party on Jane and Finch.
Employers actually do check up on you! If I was hiring someone, I would do it too.

Employers would need to add you as a friend to check up on you, to see your profile. You can set what someone is allowed to see though, if they are not your friend, via privacy settings.

That's really cool, but its not a good idea for me to have a shroomery feed to my facebook, as many of my classmates and teachers probably shouldnt know about my hobby.

Hmm, dunno if tying that kind of thing to facebook is smart. Seems pretty reckless to me, considering facebook accounts tend to be based on real names, and when they're not, people can still more or less figure you out by your connections and other info.

The nature of facebook is the main reason I will never add this app. Only the last people I want to know about my alternate, secret, drugged up life use facebook.

i haven't read the rest of the thread down yet so forgive me, but i would be more inclinedto use it if i didn't have to worry about people who know me personaly or academicaly seeing posts from the pub/otd in my profile.

So far i love the app... I get to check my facebook and check out the latest goings on at the shroomery at the same time. I like the general top 5 (or whatever) newest posts, but i kinda agree... it would be nice to be able to pick which forum you put up.

I'm about to move so unfortunately I won't have much (any) time to work on this for at least a month, however I do plan to add more customization options. Besides the ability to display posts from certain forums, I'm thinking about letting you display only your posts or journal entries. Also I'll add preferences such as the number of posts to show and whether to categorize them by forum. Unfortunately Facebook's API makes this a little more complicated than usual since every time a post is made you have to pre-generate the HTML for each user and then push it to their profile. Nothing insurmountable though. And with the surprise popularity of the app (32 users and growing) I can justify the effort.
Also I'd like to thank Facebook for adding us to their application directory. The directory is moderated and the developer board is full of people complaining because their app was rejected for some random obscure reason. But ours went right in.

The whole point of Facebook is managing real-life contacts and getting up with real people you know. For this to work, you need your real info.
But hey, whatever, thanks for the app in principle. I just don't expect it to be useful. The novelty of it seems to be appealing, but I don't really see what it does that having two windows open wouldn't do...

I added the application and i think its an awesome idea.
It's possibly the best application on my facebook page thus far.
My only request is: i would love to be able to choose what forums
the feed was coming from. anyone have any other interesting
face-book applications? i've seen everything from zombies,
to food-fight applications and personal bio-rhythms.
