Oden's gonna flop

That's my prediction. He'll be decent, but not spectacular.
I dunno, I've seen two years of him in college and he just seems like another player who took advantage of the lesser competition in college. Of course I could be grossly wrong.

no, i agree with you. although he only played 1 year in college. IMO he scored a lot and looked good because he was a freak and was way bigger than everyone else.
he'll be good in the NBA, but i cant wait to see LeBron dunk on his shit.

Looks like Portland is seriously considering Kevin Durant over Oden. They are both having tryouts with the team.

i beat you to it.
idk, if i was a GM id take Durrant over Oden all day.. Oden will not dominate the NBA the way he did college. and again, he wasnt even the best player in the Big 10. Portland is trash anyways.. id much rather see Durrant land in Seattle a team that is on the come up.

Durant came in dead last in the athletic tests at the pre-draft camp out of all the people that completed every exercise. I'm not saying he won't be good, but they both have shit to prove before everyone gets on their nuts. Right now I'd say Oden is the better pick because of what he is. Not many 7 foot true centers will be coming along any more, plenty of Durant-esque players will be around. Maybe not AS good, but definitely close.
Plus I know Banez just likes finding things not to like about OSU and allows this to blind him, and people always try to rip apart the people that are perceived to be on top unless they're fans. Just wait and see, don't start hailing either of them yet.

Noah is a power forward. The reason they're all in the top ten is because they're 7 foot true centers. I think you'll agree there will be players that will turn out to be better basketball players that will get drafted lower than them. Oden is is the best of those prospects, and I have no reason to think right now that he won't be a special player.

All you guys who say "Oh, Well he wasn't that good" or "He didnt score enough", or "He played against bad opponents" need to remember one thing.
HE PLAYED 3/4 OF THE SEASON W/ A HAND HE COULDN'T USE.
Seriously, his right hand was fractured at the beginning of the season and barely healed by the end. His shooting hand! And he put up what, 20 and 15? One handed? And you dont think he's any good?
What?
Trust me, I'm not a huge fan of the guy. I go to UW, and I despise Ohio State athletics with a passion normally reserved for Jesus-Freaks, Neo-Cons, and other gullible dreamers. But the man is a beast.
Fully healed and a year stronger, he will be a force to be reckoned with ala Tim Duncan.
Durant will be good too, I think. But he'll need a few years to develop at least, and Oden is going to be a stud right out of the gate.

dude yeah right.. just look at the highlight reels over in the SI mock draft thread i made.. durrant looks just like tmac.
oden dominated because he didnt play against quality centers. comeon, lets be serious.. what centers played in the big 10? i really cant think of any other than chris simms from michigan and thats because im a wolverine fan.
it would have been interesting to see oden matchup against someone of his size.. like an aaron gray or spencer hawes. well spencer hawes not really, hes more of a big Z type center. but aaron gray could def contain oden. IMO.

You need to flipflop that augment, Oden will need a few yrs to develop and Durant will be a stud right out of gate. Who put up the superior numbers as a freshman Durant, who flopped at the predraft workouts at the blazers camp, Oden. Who was called the most impressive out the predraft workouts from all the workouts held by the blazers which was about a 110 workouts from different players, Durant.
At this point in his development Durant is way ahead of Oden, Oden is very raw and needs alot of work, especially offensively. Durant has done way more to prep himself in all his skills, and he can pretty much do it all, both offensively and defensively. Anyone at 6-9 with 7-4 wingspan that can hit 40% of his three's is freakishly skilled.
Oden maybe the next Andrew Bynum or he maybe the next Russel who knows, but I think it will take a couple yrs for him to get up to speed and also the game is changed with the zone defense being allowed and all, and 7 ft center come out every yr, also good ones, just not great ones like shaq.
Durant on the other hand is the true top prospect, no one has done what he has done as freshman, and the Trailbaziers might pick his ass, hopefully not, and the GM bites on all the fan hype about Oden being the next specimen big.

Clearly you didn't really watch. They lost by 9. Oden had 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks. Looked like he could play against one of the best big men and big men prospect in the country (Horford.) He proved himself with every chance he got, I don't see how you can't think he'll be nasty.

Oh, and Noah scored 8 points in that game, by the way. Nice try, though.
