To a certain extent i agree with you, but i also think your being a dick.
It is a choice to be a drug addict, but a lot of drug addicts aren't hurting anyone but themselves, and need help, and sympathy to quit.

I'd probably have to agree with Rahie. They got themselves into the mess carelessly, and now they're fucked. I don't hate all of them, but I hate the ones that try to play the victim. They're the victim of their own naivety at best.

My symptahy for H addicts extends only so far to that girl on intervention who was raped and forced to shoot up and others like her

Most heroin addicts probably didnt just jump right into heroin... It probably just crept up onto them.
I wouldnt be surprised if most of them were in my current position, not having tried anything stronger than oxycodone (ive done 80mgs, ive heard good thigns but im guessing heroins much better), do codeine/morphine quite often and just curious as to how far that opiate buzz can really go..
Ive been pretty curious lately also heh .. cocaine kinda showed me what the end of a spectrum is like through.. I think ill stay with my codeine for now..
