Well what the fuck are they? I don't know much about them, but I don't think they even play live. Isn't it two dudes from separate shindigs?

would you consider infected mushroom a band just because they use a guitar player onstage? and of course they play live.

I don't know, I don't know anything about Infected Mushroom. Is there more than one person?

I always use the term band to acknowledge a musical group, but I usually use the term project for one person. I don't see why it matters, though, if the idea is still communicated.

I call one person "artist" if I'm not calling them by name or a pronoun. That isn't very often though. Same with a band, I either call them by their name or a pronoun. I don't run around saying "That band is awesome!" I say "They're awesome!"

They are a band. If you look at the inside cover of Nothing lasts.... its tells you who play in Shpongle live, 10 or so people I think.

I've seen Simon Posford himself live. He did a shpongle set at the knitting factory January 5th of this past years. new years even Younger Brother and i believe Simon as Shpongle played too. And then at camp bisco too. I don't care who Simon Posford is playing under. Under what name. I love that mans brain and i love the sounds that he plays with.
he's just a happy go lucky guy on stage dancing to his tunes. makes lots of contact with the crowd. i actually met him and talked to him for a bit. http://a310.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/12/l_c24c4c43bc7be5684ae9168984170c2d.jpg
But whenever i;ve seen him it's with one other DJ on stage or alone. i don't think they play with the full band becuase there is a lot of i guess altering done to the music. It's like seeing a DJ but he's very intereactive with the crowd. making funny faces during certain moments of songs. Simon Posford that is. I wann alisten to more Goa Trance. I need to get my some infected mushroom huh?

I saw Posford spin a Shpongle DJ set at the Symbiosis Gathering last year. Good times. I passed a deemster spliff around that got some people too spun. Smoking DMT during the Shpongle set was fucking epic!
