13 straight wins and counting. They are the team to beat and will continue to be.

They have been my pick to win it all for the whole season. Once they started bothering to play defense they have an almost complete team. Only thing they are lacking IMO is a consistant go-to guy, clutch shooter for the fourth quarter.

They do seem to lack Offense in the 4th, but they usually don't need their starters then either. They come back in usually only to try gaining momentum back if they start losing the lead.

I hate to admit it because I am a Spur's fan but you are right. Mav's are playing fantastic basketball.

Yeah and he watched the Sixers play and beat the Suns, but he couldn't even remember it was the Sixers that played the Suns.

Its hard to say.
There are SO many good teams in the West.
I like the Suns and hate the Mavericks, but the Mavs look GREAT this year. Better than last year, for sure. But the Suns are better too...
I think the Spurs are always a sleeper, of course. They're cool as a cucumber and play great defense, and they have the experience of knowing what it takes to win a title or two...

I hate the Spurs, but if the Mavs don't make it I want them to take it. Keep it in Tx.
I had floor tickets to see the Cavs come to Dallas, gave em away cause I've gotta leave town tonight. Oh well.

I like the Spurs in the west, but if I was a betting man, I'd go with Dallas. The Suns are good but don't play good enough defense IMO. I disagree with the people that think Dallas doesn't play good enough defense, they may be better at putting points on the board but I think they play good enough defense to win a championship. But we'll see, and I can't wait either I always love the NBA post season.

The Suns can definately play defense when they need to.
They just dont always need to.
Nash can guard like glue, Amare is great in the paint, marion is long and quick...
They're pretty good defensively if they need to be...

Good point about them playing defense when they have to. I just always see them giving up 100 or points to teams like the Sonics and Raptors, but I guess if your scoring 130 points a night it don't really matter. I also didn't know Steve Nash was a good defender, I always thought that was his one weakness. I still gotta feeling like this is the Maverick's year but we'll see.

Dirk should get MVP this year, for sure...

Being the Dallas fan that I am, I'm sad to say that dirk is most def. not my MVP. With all the talk about how deep the mavs are how is it that we forget the depth once MVP talks arise? simply put hes an amazing player and an anomaly in a lot of ways but i cant put him up there with Nash or even Kobe, he's got too much help around him.
Nash should, but won't win it 3 in a row

Spur's won their 9th straight game. Coming on strong at the end of the year like they always do. Looks to me like the Mavs and Spurs are going to have another epic battle in the playoffs.

Mav's win streak to 16 Spur's to 10. Looks like the 2 best teams in the league to me. Sorry Sun's fans you probably have to get by both the Mav's and Spur's to get to the finals. I still think the Mav's are going to win it all.

The Mavericks made history on Tuesday night -- not just team history, not just NBA history, but major North American pro sports history. With their 102-89 victory over the Nets, the Mavericks became the first team in NBA history to earn 51 wins in a 56-game span within a single season.
No team in the NHL or in Major League Baseball has done such a thing, either. (And in the NFL, no team has ever amassed 51 wins over any multiple-season stretch of 56 regular-season games.) - Elias Says
