thought it might get better attention in the PUB so...
okay, i dunno if everything has finished uploading either, but here are a few really shitty clips of us.
i wrote pretty much all the music, voicelines/lyrics, structures, guitar riffs, whatever...everything except for the drum parts basically; the drummer and i work really well together creating structure. i am the singer also; i have to teach everything to the guitarist...it sucks balls . i edited some of these songs so they might tend to jump around a bit and skip, but i think you can get the idea.
enjoy, or don't enjoy, just want some constructive feedback.

Pretty cool man. Lot different than my style, but I like it. It's different.
How long you been playing together?
And how many guitars in the band again?

thanks, what do you "feel" is different about it? what should we keep progressing and what should we leave at the door?
just 1 guitarist in the band, bassist wasn't here for these recordings, but i (the singer) write all the guitar parts. i have to teach our guitarist everything, it sucks, so much more work for me...

Why not just cut the guitarist out and do it yourself if you are writing it anyway?
Or...just be a singer and let the guitarist do his thing, if your open to your music going in a different direction?
What I mean by different is, I'm heavily influenced by old rock and it's obviously something different, like the description says psychedelic, progressive experimental type rock It's very mellow. That sad song(can't remember what it's actually called) seemed kinda monatone to me, but I like the voice.
I'm pretty new into making my own music myself, so I haven't been doing this for years...I'm no expert. I'd definetely get some bass in there if possible.
I like it though. It's creative.

the guitarist is "good" technically, but he just doesn't have the patience to write stuff. he is also a very good friend of mine so i don't want to just kick him out...
the guitar parts are too complex/syncopated for me to sing my contrasting voicelines over the guitar. otherwise i totally would
the sad song is actually being played on my guitar loop pedal; it's a bass part and a guitar part, hence why it sounds so repetitious and monotone; thanks for the compliment on my voice though
thanks for the criticism, we appreciate all we can get.

So is he content playing what you tell him because he KNOWS he doesn't have the patience to write? I'm just curious, cause I could sort of understand that then. As long as he's happy with the situation that's all. There's no way I could ever do that though.
I can dig the music, like I said creative. But I'm no expert on giving advice...pretty new to the game my self . If your looking for some constructive critisism, I'd think about getting some of those talented chaps in the music forum. Granted, more people will probably take a look in the pub, but those guys have a lot to say when they do take a look.

My advice is to stay away from sounding so much like Tool.

Listening to A Bundle Of Sticks right now. The distortion on the guitar when it comes in sounds bad. The song seems cool enough so far. I think you should work on mixing the recording somewhat, it doesn't seem to really span the stereo field, if you know what I mean.... very condensed, in the center.... The cymbals seem to be too far up in the mix. The song itself is interesting, though.
Listening to the last part of the song, I think the drummer could spend some time on developing his bass drum abilities.

Also, I've noticed in Pooch and the Terror song that I often hear a James Hetfield influence in your vocals. I really dig your singing, man. When I start a band I'll be stealing you - I love melodic vocals like that, but with that Hetfield tone going on... I always thought that the perfect vocalist would be a cross between Maynard James Keenan and James Hetfield.

A bundle of sticks and Turd Tickler's Terror sounded extremely Toolish.. way too much so imo. Try and expand your horizons a bit is my advice. Vocals are solid yet very Maynardy.. guitar is good but I heard like 20 riffs that very closely resembled Tool riffs.. I mean its good to have influences but don't replicate them. Create your own shit, keep forming your style, it's a constantly evolving process.. have fun Otherwise good shit, and get a good bass player.
