A while back bush came to my area... my friend who was drunk at the time attempted to spit on bush!!! she was then tackled and arrested... but i guess it was worth it to say she spit on the president!

fuck that, the driver should not have been fired, they didn't really do anything extrema outside of his/her job position. its just some poor fucking driver who is probably pissed at the tax break for higher incomes, family died over seas, or whatever, it doesn't really matter. kids know what the middle finger that was not there first time seeing it in use, and its not there last.
the driver defiantly deserves a warning but ffs to be fired that well pretty much fucks them for dinner that week. the prez didn't even really give a fuck.

That's not the issue...like if the busdriver had mooned the kids but none of the kids had been looking...he still shouldn't have mooned the kids.

I think the appropriate action was taken in this case. When you are employed by a company, you in essence are under contract to perform certain duties for a specified amount of pay. That employment contract, like or not, requires a certain caliber of respect and behavior. When you violate the company rules or guidelines, you are in direct violation of your employment contract. Your rights as an employee only go so far and they do not include you having the right to say and do whatever you want, whenever you want.
If you don't like your job or the rules of your employment contract, it's your right to quit that job and find something that allows more expression. This really only exists if you work for an activist group or own your business though.

What is it with everybody that hates Bush so much that common sense and decency goes right out the window? And then of course the "freedom of speech" defense pops up within a split-second.
Hating Bush is all fine and dandy. But it doesn't give you immunity in your job to make whatever obscene and disrespectful gesture comes to mind.

in middle school my bus driver let a kid get his ass beat...just kept driving the bus letting kids off, glanced in the mirror every once in a while to see who was winning. nothing happened to this bus driver...
this person got fired because it was bush.
should have never happened.
and we weren't there so we don't know the "whole" story. bush could have been trying to recruit the kids on the bus to fight his war on terror for all we know.
its easiest to get "kids" to sign over their soul....thats why they have recruiters in highschool.....thats why they send 18 year olds to die....because they don't know any better (plus its cool man!)

Bus driver was fired for being a moron in front of students. If I was the boss there and your bus driver diod what you claim he did, I'd fire his ass as well.
School employees need to be respectful and on top notch behavior because they are around, being role models for, and teaching our children.
The only relation to bush this has, is that its only news BECAUSE it was bush.
