Hello my imaginary friend is tripping for the first time tonight. I recommended a half eight made into tea. My other imaginary friend who is an experienced tripper is tripping with him so he's not alone and I'll be the sitter. I was just wondering what some good songs our for first timers. any suggestions would be cool.

I love floyd for trips too. but sometimes they have creepy sound like the screeching in echoes that i worry about for first timers.

For a first trip I'd suggest you find some mellow laid back music you really like, once you're comfortably into the trip put a variety of albums/compilations on of music which is detailed and "trippy", vary as the mood takes you and finish (ie when you're approaching baseline) with some music that you really love.

Ha.
Sweet list. The album/EP "Twisted" by Hallucinogen is a good one for everybody. Try some dark ambient like Sephiroth's "Draconian Poetry" or Desiderii Marginis' "Deadbeat" if you're interested in that sort of beautifully dark Beksinksi flavour of experience. Bill Laswell's "Axiom Ambient" is an extremely in-the-moment peaceful and contemplation-inducing album that would be good for a laid-back sort of trip or maybe for the comedown. Keep in mind I'm only talking with experience on MDMA and weed here.

What ever music you really like is always a good choice.
Personally for trips I like Chemical brothers, pendulem and Luke Slater, on a big trip once passed the acceptance point I prefer more relaxed music. Liquid(ish) jungle, ambient techno and Bob Marley are a few that I like a lot when in this state.

Tool is pretty intense, be ready to have your world shattered.
If you are shooting for something more mellow, I suggest:
BT (This Binary Universe)
DJ Shadow (Preemptive Strike, Entroducing)
Either one of these cd's is a trip sober or not. And if you have 18$ to drop on some music, go pick up the dvd/cd set of BT's cd. The dvd is amazing for anything psychadellic.

Ludwig Van Beethoven the symphonies are a good place to start, there are a few torrents, one that i dl'ed has a radio host that gives like an intro, so try not to get that one, its a great recording, but having some dick from the bbc's voice pop into your head it pretty annoying while sober,

Once again, good music = music you enjoy. Whatever is on your iPod, your playlist, whatevere you like listening to on daily basis is GOOD music on shrooms.
Do you see how greatly the replys range? Some say classical, others offer 60s psychedelic, others offer Tool. Yes this is a goo way to discover new music, but its definately not a good idea to just trip to these random bands. You have to listen to them before you trip and decide whether you like the music or not.
There is nothign worse during a trip when a song comes on that you hate, and beats or lyrics are too much for you to handle....and just then you forget how to use your remote controll. Bummer
But here are some of my choices:
Wolfmother - Imagne 70s rock brught back to life, very psychedelic with great lyrics. Songs to look for (Joker and the Thief, Pyramid, Dimension)
OutKast - listen to earlier albums, very pschadelic BUT can be a bit too much for closed mind. Lyrics will make you uncomfortable. Albums to look for (Southernplayalysticadilacmusick, ATLiens, Aquemini, Stankonia or for the happy trip Speakerboxx/Love-Below)
Queens of the Stone Age - Stoner desert rock never felt so good, all albums are great. Some song to look for (Regular John, Go With the Flow, Feel good hit of the summer, Burn the Witch and the list is just too big)
NaS - Also very deep could be somewhat dark beats with lyrics that can break your head in two. Album to look for (Illmatic)
Biggie - For more experienced users, very dark beats and dark lyrics. Album "Ready to Die" will paint amazing movies infront of your face on shrooms, be carefull. O_o
Jimi Hendrix - Machine Gun, Who Knows, if 6 was 9, Hey Joe, Angel, need I say more?

Leftover Crack / Choking victim are trippy if you like the type of music
There are alot of bands to listen to. You just gotta experiment and find your taste.

Really any Shpongle cd is perfect for tripping. I've only tripped to their last album, Nothing Lasts... But Nothing Is Lost, and it was probably my best trip, a direct effect of the music. Trust me, if you're a new tripper, you do not want to miss a trip with Shpongle. And don't download a few songs, acquire an entire album, however, and listen to it the way it was intended to be heard.
