So maybe it only looks cool for the first month...then it just looks like a really big scar.

thats beyond scarring....he's peeling away chunks of skin, basically cutting the image out of her back. The pink is pieces of skin that has been completely removed.

that's one tough broad. I know I could not sit through that.
even though I have plenty of ink I would not get that done. but I cannot knock another's body modification.
cheers to her. quite original. never seeing a cutting like that before.
one girl I know, though, has a single line cutting down one side of her body (arm pit to the body of her foot). It's actually quite beautiful.

Like someone else said, I find it interesting, but most of the scars I've seen don't seem to heal well. THat is, you just can't get really defined lines through this method.

Wow, that is sick, but not wrong, just sick. It looks really cool, but is that how it will always look? Is there any inking involved? Will it fade away like my scars do? Wow, very intriguing. She has some balls, fer sure!

It's scarification (or maybe this specific technique has another name), and yeah, lots of people do stuff like this. It's not common like tattoo, but it's not like it's some brand new weird practice either.

Yeah, and tattoos were not that common 40 years ago... I can't wait until young teenage girls start scaring their bodies like this...
I admire art, and I totally agree with personal freedoms to do anything you want to yourself... But what the fuck?
Some people forget, or have no idea, that your skin is a very important organ, and probably shouldn't be "cut away" for art's sake. The possible infections and ramifications of doing this seem to outweigh any positives... not to mention long term effects...
To each his own I suppose.

yeah its called scarification... its not nearly as common as piercing or tattooing or even branding but if done properly its absolutely beautiful imo... funny thing is i've only ever met females that have had the nuts to have it done.... my favorite was a girl who had wings on her back

Damn i have never seen anybody go that extreme...
I have allot of tattoos, and friends who own, and work in tattoo shops, and have seen pictures of people doing this scarring type of body art, but never on this level. People pay to get branded, and scared because they think its a new form of art since allot of people are getting tatted these days..
You know what this reminds me of, this asshole who wanted to have a gunshot wound added to his body. So he paid a guy to fire a bullet into his shoulder, and give him a bullet hole. Body art is getting extreme these days.

I dont see how a cutting is any more a "ruin" of a back than if she got a tattoo. Do you think ink ruins skin? I think it's beautiful personally, but I would never have that done myself. Looks too painful to me - during and afterwards. I'd rather have ink than a scar, but that's just a personal preference.

If she was drunk, you would have seen a pool of blood on the floor. I'm into tattoing and have friends in the business, one of whom is doing implants, Placing surgical steel under the skin to make a 3d image. I'm thinking of getting horns. (not really)
check this shit out if you've never seen this practice in action, The pics aren't nearly as gory as the ones that started this thread. This guy is one of the best ( not my friend unfortunately )and he does some pretty wicked things.

You might find it beautiful, but personally I find it pretty disgusting.
Just like some people like tattoos and some people don't. That doesn't make me right. Or you right. They're called 'opinions'.

What will those crazy kids think of next?!
My prediction is that when hipsters and renegades get bored with piercing, tatoos, scarrification, etc. the only logical next step is:
 AMPUTATION!!!

Scarification is so much better than tattooing,in my opinion 99% of tattoos only make the tattooed person look like trash. Its damn hard to find people who are any good at flesh removal because allot of places make it against the law under the "Practicing medicine without a license" because they consider it to be surgery and not body modification

There are a small number of people who have an obsession, ususally beginning in childhood. They desperately want to have a body part removed. Almost as though they feel like an amputee trapped in a normal body.
Many of them eventually severelly injure that body part on purpose so it has to be removed. Often they feel wonderful afterwards. As though they've been completed.
It's weird shit, look it up.

I attached a video compilation of extreme body modification people performing their acts of (mostly genital) mutilation.
It very probably is the most upsetting thing you ever saw and many people would rather not see it. Only download it when you are willing to witness extreme of (mostly genital) mutilation.
Scenes include a person's finger being amputated with hammer and chisel and a guy sticking needles and pins into his testicles, and when he pulls one out seminal fluid oozes out of the pinhole in his sac. Downright nasty stuff, unbelievable what people do for kicks.
It's among OTD's worst, so be warned.

She could have just as easily gotten a tattoo of the same thing. Why the fuck would she do something like this?

Perhaps she wanted to endure the pain, and considered the scarification a rite of passage. These things are perfectly acceptible elements of most primitive cultures, but modern society sweeps it under the rug.
For most people, as you see some still seek out this kind of situations. Blame modern society for being lame and bland.

obviously.
but I should point out that opinions are not beyond the realm of discussion and debate. so, when you say she ruined her skin and I ask if she instead received a tattoo if you think she would still have ruined skin, it is alright to talk about and answer.
it will be ok.
