Didn't think much of them when I first saw them, way too big for cyans. Brought one home and couldn't ID it, Hopefully you can give me some ideas (sorry, no sporeprint right now, my bad!)

Anyone identify these yet didjin? im quite interested in knowing what they are. Macroscopically they look like a mushroom of the psilocybe genus. My guess would be baeocystis, but yeah i dont really know much about them though. Any mod got an oppinion?

No ID was ever made that I know of. someone did suggest it may be some type of armillarea.
Reguardless, I love the shape of those mushrooms.

didjin last weekend i went out hiking in a portland park and found a lot of mushrooms that looked very similar to the ones you posted. at this link are some pictures i snapped. http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=0AZtnDdu4ctGLig
those mushrooms were in wood chips that had been placed around trees. it seemed like i went out on the perfect day, for that type of mushrooms. i've spent some time with mushrooms demystified trying to figure out what they were but am not certain. my only guess so far is flammulina velutipes, though i was not collecting any mushrooms when i went out and didn't perform a spore print or really even examine the gills closely.
it was a great way to spend an afternoon, walking around in the park identifying mushrooms.

well sadly, i fel this season has come to an end:( it has snowed and now its just freezzing like everynight and snow is still on the ground from 2 days ago and, it just looks like its over.
im pretty dissapointed about the early ending, but im a little satisfied because i only managed to pick around 3 O's of dry cyanescens and this was my best season out of 2! so i guess this is a goodbye from me to the PNW2006-07 finds thread!..unless i post some props for a find
guess i will see all of you next season for the 07-08 thread! PEEEEEACE

in general, next fall.
there will probably be opportunity for pans and for a few scattered findings of other species in the interim [into spring, possibly into summer], depending on rainfall and temps. the great bulk of the season is in the fall/winter [again, dependant oppon weather].

Alas!!! One lone survivor from my private patch in Portland area. Found today but it looks at least 5 days old. I was truly shocked the patch had any fruits left in it after this cold snap. Oh, don't you worry, I WILL eat it...I don't care how ugly it looks. Yes, that's an azure Happy New Year Shroomerites!!

They hide in the search engine, usually around the searchiest time of the year.

i start hunting them when i can correctly identify a blueing, active psilocybe beyond question and target thier habitat. when that happens depends on whom i am.
for most of us, it's our first or second fall/pre-freeze winter in the pacific northwest of the us or western europe and in predominantly hardwood chips or debris where it is accumulated en masse [landscaping beds in particular].

Hey everyone here at the shroomery! I'm new here, so mind me if im a bit slow. I live in Washington at the time, but we've been totally dumped on by snow the past week. Maybe after the snow melts away, I might be able to go a picking and get something good. Anyone else get anything at all?

naw i doubt it. once it frezzes like it has and snows, the mycelia stops growing, which means the muchies stop growing, which means you just missed the season, which, utimately, means your gonna have to wait till next fall bro, sorry
