yeah gotta love the pain, but its all do to with the client too, if the client gives up its their own fault, i just listen to my pt and say what he asks and try to preform to his expectations

Like I said, I was fuckered for a few weeks... two weeks with out a gym, I used a suitcase to preform as many different kinds of workouts as I could. I had two big long bruises across my wrist from trying to curl my suitcase too, it sucked. Thank god for muscle memory.

So I've done my split, asides from legs because MY gym isn't open (Working out at a gym ran by the city, so nothing good there really. No bench or squat rack, no barbell either! At least there's free weights!). After another weeks I'm going to completely switch it up and hit a full body workout for probably 4 or 6 weeks, I still need to look into things.... I'm actually really excited about it too. Get some extreme variation, some hella testosterone, I'm gonna keep those muscles guessing. Ain't nothin but a peanut. lol

What suppliments do you two take, if you don't mind me asking?

umm just take a protein powder that is 50/50 of carbs and protein. thinking about takening some tribulus and creatine

Take creatine for sure. Whether you're bulking, just wanting to stay fit, even cutting. It's so cheap and beneficial that no one shouldn't be taking it. It's great for heat acclimitization, building strength, recovery and overall health. Drink plenty of water, which you should be doing whether you work out or not.

Right now I'm shooting for a 40:40:20 ratio of carbs to protein to fat. It's rather rough, I go with what my body needs really and only count carbs in my head. But still..

You should also look into ZMA for recovery. Hot damn it's good. Zinc magnesium aspartate. It'll put you into a wickedly deep sleep and is obviously good for recovery. I work at 5am so I need to wake up at around 3:45am each morning if I want to have a good start, a little food, a protein shake, shower and off to work..... so going to bed at 8pm sucks. ZMA is a life saver. I can get a solid 8 hours of sleep and that's that. It's pretty cheap too.

Haven't taken tribulus but my brother said it's all right. Try it out, but don't spend too much money. I'm going to buy some NO-XPLODE soon. I took Arginone (KreAKG [a good arginine source], citruline malate, glutatmine) and it was AWESOME. Got HUUUUUGE pumps!! I'd sometimes work out my back and bi's on the same day, even though I like a dedicated back day, and holy fuck would I look huge. Massive lats sticking out, shirt looked 5 sizes too small although it was loose when I stepped in the gym, fuck is it a good suppliment. Arginine is good for nitrogen retention, so I could only imagine what NO-XPLODE's going to do.

I don't like caffeine because I'm trying to abstain, but there's 100mg in a scoop of BSN's NO-XPLODE... I'm at the point where I can finally do a little bit of cardio, or drink green tea or caffeine and not piss like a race horse and have a speedy metabolism.

God it feels good to work out again.

this is just based on my experience not science

if you want to get big

work out on heavy machine wieghts every two days (full body work out)

and take a good whey protein supplement in addition to a healthy , vegetable rich diet. Drink lots of water, give your worked muscles one day to rest between work outs

and yeah. make sure to work out your back at least once for every time you work out your chest, or else you could ruin your body forever.

Hey I just wanted to throw in that i've got some good information out of this post thanks guys... I was jsut wondering also if any of you guys were in to a mostly cardio workout or boxing type deal, i've been in that shape b4 and am taking steps at getting back in there i'm just wondering if any of you guys are doing that opposed to the muscle building that it sounds like you are all going for...

yeah i am thinking about getting into cardio, even just playing b-ball for an hour or soccor. wsa also thinking about doing some kickboxing training.

i used to kickbox for around 3 years, was workin my way up to a fight, but then i got too busy with school and work...

yea, the stuff mentioned in this thread seems to be directed towards gaining muscle (not necesarily size but also strength). so you definately should follow the information stated here cause that extra strength from weightlifting will help in any sport you may do (and i believe it also strengthens your tendons). also the stuff stated here also helps things such as endurance.
basically a good diet is needed for all sports, and that the testosterone thing goes for both sporty stuff and muscle mass stuff. different excercises are used for different goals, but in the end its all about getting a good workout.

i wrote up a small paper about protein and supplements along with a few workout tips for a friend of mine. i might post it up some time

As far as symmetry's concerned... well, I've never HAD a concern with it before. lol

My right arm is the superior arm, so my left bicep peak is a little higher than the right, but my right tricep heads are the slightly more prominent. This is something only I would notice.. everyone's got quirks like that. I wouldn't worry about it. The best advice I've heard from extremely experienced lifters was to just keep lifting! Of course, never work one muscle (Single muscle like one leg or one arm, not muscle group) to try playing catch up. It's just a waste of time and worse in the long run.

Apparently, and I believe this to be true from experience, after lifting heavy weight your body is of course in an anabolic state, but recognize the fact that you're still burning energy. Carbs, calories and fat will be burnt at a quicker rate and for more reasons than just heightened metabolism alone. That being said, it's also a no-brainer to do cardio AFTER heavy lifting! You don't want to get pinned under a barbell, or pull a bicep muscle when you're overcompensating for a deadlift that you normal have no problems with.

I'm still doing absolutely no cardio at all unless you count a careful 5 minute leg warm up on the bike on leg days. My BF %'s shot up into the 20's and dropped down to single digits all in a matter of weeks. Right now I'm probably sitting at around 10%, but again, I started off as the scrawniest ectomorph ever. I'd say I'm more of an ecto-mesic dude now. I can run long distance, starve myself and do whatever would cause weight loss in the past and stay at the same relative weight. I'm glad to be normal and not fucking scrawny or feminent. My gf comments that my wrists were as small as hers when we met almost 2 years ago, and that's pretty sweet seeing as how wrists really don't bulk up.

You guys are all caucasian too, right? I've noticed that asian guys and caucasian guys are totally different when it comes to sports, bodybuilding and things like breakdancing. Ever watch an asian skateboard in a white crowd? They COMPLETELY stand out, same with breakdancing... it's weird.

My gym teacher in highschool mentioned asian and black people's muscle types and how gains work. Black people especially just explode when it comes to physical activity apparently from the harsh environments they endured before moving to places like north america. Sometimes the same thing happens with asians. A few guys are my gym looked like stick men, but now they look like little juice monkeys but are clean and natural. Afoaf doesn't even own a protein shaker and he owns the gym the minute he walks in. Crazy.

Running will build endurance and sit ups and push ups will work strength.

finally getting some supplements, just brought 2 loads of creatine. do you do the loading phase or just keep taking a average dose?

do the loading

ps, what type did you get? powder, droplets, etc?if its powder make sure the powder disolves otherwise it wont be able to absorb into the blood stream and will give you stomach aches etc.

yeah got the powder, mixxed it in with my protein powder, which did make me feel a bit sickly afterwards but i think that was the choc taste.
haven't noticed any stomach upsets, and it didn't disolve properly. i though it was a suspension type powder?

You don't need to load more than 2 days, if at all. People still tell you to load but you really don't need to. It's been proven for years but information about loading is STILL being circulated. 20g for two days, then maybe 5g or 10g a day depending on what your goals are.

Creatine's so incredibly cheap now that if you're taking creatine monohydrate (look for anything that says creapure and that isn't too expensive. bodybuilding.com has awesome, cheap creatine for $20 a kilo or something) you can take it every day... you don't have to worry about taking it or not taking it on your off days. Just take it every day. Just remember to not take that and glutamine at the same time because they won't absorb as well, just like how calcium and zinc don't mix.

It really won't disolve very well. I just stopped trying. When I mix it with my protein I simply swish the drink around and around before I drink it bceause it'll suspend as long as there's a current. lol. And the last little bit of your shake... stir that up too and shoot it. It'll be gross, but that's where a lot ends up.

When you really get to know your body and how well it reacts to creatine you can look at better sources like creatine ethyl ester, kreALK and all that weird crap. Some people aren't responders to creatine... I put on over 10lbs of water weight in a week though! lol. I actually keep my gains from creatine. I don't lose muscle or anything if I stop, but I've had two tubs of creatine for the past half year almost so why stop taking it?

Bodybuilding.com has a BILLION resources about creatine. When it comes to suppliments it's really a free for all. See what others say, see what the scientists and peer studies discover about them, then try them out and see how you respond to it. Make sure that when you start stacking suppliments like nitric oxide products, any weight loss products, creatine, meal replacements all jive. You don't want to get a rotten gut and you certainly don't want to wreck your body or piss out your expensive suppliments.

By the way, chocolate protein makes me want to yak. I've never tried any good chocolate protein, not even ON double chocolate... I like optimum nutritions rocky road protein!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MMmmm, my god when it's mixed with milk it tastes like the best shake ever! Some of that, some skim milk, creatine go together well. You can't taste the sandy creatine either. Invest in some next time you buy protein because it's probably the best protein you can buy for taste, performance and value. No joke. ON protein is the absolute best. I could drink it for the rest of my life.

yeah any sports supplements are expensive here, we can pay up to $100 for a kilo of creatine mono-, and trying to find that no-explode aswell but nobody stocks it so might hae to buy it online.
just picked myself up some tribulus and HMB over $100 for the two but its going to last about a month and a half or so.

Yup. ON Rocky road is my favorite flavor of all. What I've learned the hard way, is that "Cookies and Cream" and "Vanilla" are the two flavors that truly make me want to YAK. Vanilla is a little more tolerable than Cookies and Cream, it just needs sugar to cover up the taste. Cookies and Cream wasn't bad at the first time, but after a while, it just tastes like garbage. I love Cookies and Cream ice cream, of course, but that actually tastes good. Strawberry is the other flavor that's also pretty damn good. Especially when you mix it with Cranberry juice.

Yeah my brother ususally does a search on bodybuilding.com's forums before going with a new product and if there's one thing they all agree on, it's that cookies and cream is the most disgusting ON protein powder. I tried it and I actually didn't mind it too much, but it tastes more like mocha than cookies and cream.

Before I left for TX my protein that I ordered online still hadn't arrived, so I picked up the vanilla ice cream flavour from a GNC store (Bleh, I know). It wasn't too bad! I felt daring so I mixed it with orange juice and cranberry juice and wow. It actually tastes good! I just finished a shake with water when I woke up this morning and it tastes like dog crap. Mixed with juice though, it's really, really good! I suppose next time I need some carbs and protein, I'll mix it with juice. :thumbup:

That really sucks about Australia though, spud. I feel for ya, I live in Canada so our dollar's are relatively the same and it's pretty expensive to live in BC (My paychecks; if they're $900, I take home $700!). It costs almost $50 for a 5lb tub of protein, so if I've really got to do my research and make sure I get something worth my money! ON or Optimum Nutrition has amazingly good protein! I would suggest looking for some online as you will save a lot of money. I'm almost exclusively buying my suppliments online because it really adds up overtime.

Although some people don't like to be pestered in the gym, sometimes I'll initiate a conversation afterwards or talk to people when I see them chugging down a shake. Ask what's in theirs, ask if it works and where they bought it... my brother made a friend at GNC and now he hooks him with 30% discounts. I occaisionally get free suppliments like vitamins, ZMA, arginine products, etc just from knowing the right people. I know how much it sucks to pay for expensive suppliments, and for essentials like protein and creatine.. shit son! Good luck! :headbanger:
