It's been a long time coming and it's about time they stood up and said something on behalf of the roughly 45% of americans who were against this war from the start.
Bogus figure, sir. Please provide polls from on or around the end of March 2003 showing 45% of Americans opposing the war. It started March 19, 2003, so if you're going to claim 45% opposed it "from the start" that's the timeframe we need reliable polls from. Knock yourself out.

To bring this up now (the fact that the administration did mislead the american people) ...
As has been established, Bush didn't "mislead" the American people about anything. The most you can argue is that the American intelligence agencies got it just as wrong through eight years of Clinton (a Democrat, in case you had forgotten) as the intelligence agencies of France, Russia, Germany, England, Italy and a whole bunch of others. Add to that the UN itself and Hussein's own generals.

The conservatives here would have me believe it was completely the intelligence communities fault, but can they tell me who is being held accountable?
Who does the president rely on for intelligence about these matters if not the intelligence agencies? As for who lost their jobs, I do believe the guy who was head of the CIA on September 11, 2001 (George Tenet) is no longer the head of the CIA. Am I mistaken in this belief?

Now, all this talk about the Dem trying to rewrite history? That's just the ridiculous and pathetically lame catch phrase you bushites picked up from all these right wing attack speeches bush has been giving recently.
Sorry, but that is not even close to being the truth. Bush's supporters have been despairing for over a year that he hasn't refuted the Dems revisionism. They've been after his administration for at least that long to respond to the Dem's bullshit. It's Bush who has been behind the curve, not his supporters.

I think it's dead on accurate to say that Bush and co. mislead and intimidated the american people into their initial war support. I remember it because i was paying very close attention to the whole thing at the time. Cheney was saying 'there is no doubt in my mind saddam hussein has wmds' bush was saying that if we didn't act, we'd see the smoking gun in the form of "a mushroom cloud"
You were paying close attention, were you? Then you can't have missed the many equally strong statements from literally dozens of prominent Dems saying the exact same thing, starting in the 1990s. There have only been about thirty or so threads in this forum with posts including lists of such quotes from Dems that take about a minute and a half to scroll through.

...people that hadn't thought about iraq in years all the sudden hated suddam hussein with a passion and were worried about the nuclear weapons he had.
September 11, 2001 changed the way Americans looked at Hussein. In polls taken two days after the attacks (LONG before the Bush administration had said word one about Iraq re 9/11), almost 80% of Americans polled believed Hussein was behind the attacks.

Dems aren't trying to rewrite history...check the buzzwords are the door please.
They are trying to rewrite history. Fortunately the Internet and Lexis/Nexis make their efforts futile. It's not a case of "buzzwords" at all -- it's a case of their own words.
I have no problem with Dems who voted against resuming hostilities in Iraq. One could argue they made the wrong decision, but it's not like it was an easy decision to make. I have problems with the Dems who voted for the war out of cynical political calculation now pretending they were duped into doing so. That's transparent bullshit, pure and simple.

They voted out of pure political calculation then, they'll whine and vote out of pure political calculation now. They believe in nothing and never have. Like union biggies drawing paychecks 100 times the size of the average union member. Gotta love 'em. They are really amateurs.
