I say, since your lease is gonna be up, just truck it to a new area, get a job at a mah and pop resturant, when there isnt any corporation involved, hopefully get 20 hours, and start painting pictures in a little cove...maybe outside of southern tennessee

yup, it sucks.
everyone I know (or would even consider living with) have leases that are not up until Sept. or Oct - so my roommate situation is fucked. I cant afford to live alone - well, perhaps in a studio - that is definitely an option if I find a decent job.

Yeah, exactly. I need forty hours a week and I need them now!
This job was not near enough hours, and really was just a job to keep my parents happy so it didn't seem like I was doing nothing.
Ares, I am going to move to a different city - and there's a job I really want at a nursery (plants, not kids) that'd be landscaping all week. I'd get tan, work with plants and have a fun job. I really hope I can get that.

Get some outdoor/manual labor work, like at a tree farm, thats what I did last summer and I am getting an interview today for another similar place. You will get payed well, the work will most likely just last the summer, so you can decide if this is the type of work you like, and you will be working outdoors which is nice most of the time. But if you want to do that, start looking now, because they are hiring right now if they haven't done so already.

My advice to you would be to get a job with a cell phone company as customer service or a credit card collection agency, if you can deal with it. It's not a great job but it pays well and they look for people that seem to fit your current criteria. My buddy worked for a CC collection agency and made 12 bux an hour, got opportunities for overtime, and got benefits after 6 months. He had just graduated high school. If you do pursue this, keep in mind you will need to keep looking for something better....these places give you enough to make your way and have some extra cash, but its NOT a great career, as some ppl often get sucked into this.
Just trying to help....and I understand the alarm thing all too well....it happens. But you should have told your boss the truth and called that day, then shown up to work to apologize.... that day. I bet he wouldn't have even been that pissed.

Wow....I just got a job today with a landscaping company. They are starting me off at 7$ an hour, can you fucking believe that shit? Also, they drug test supposedly and I have to work every saturday morning at 8am, what have I got myself into?!

Landscaping is a good job. You get to work outside so you can get a tan and have some exercise while you're at it. Plus, very few employer drug tests even do a test for mushrooms. you might have to cut out other stuff though
