I usually find that low doses take longer to kick in, be patient, it can take up to 2 hours...but dont worry youll trip soon enough

True, low doses do take much longer to kick in. ie.
"~50ug- mild energy shift, coming on almost unnoticably at 1.5 hours. Tracers become apparent at 3+ hours, last for another 3-4. Slow come on."
(From another post on LSD dosages and effects), and if it was only half a blotter, it could of easily been 50ug or less.
The reason you probably didnt have that many visuals was because you only did a half.
I also find LSD has a tendancy to sneak up on you where BOOM, your tripping and didnt even reallize you were tripping untill a few moments after the visuals have started (if that makes sense).
ie: you'll be staring at someones face, then it starts to morph and twist, it'll do this for a bit, and then you clue in "oh my, that isnt normal"

Even when I take three hits at once it always takes me two hours before I feel any effects at all. But I immediatley start tripping at the two hour mark.
Also keep in mind that everyone has a different threshold for aicd. If I were you I'd buy two hits next time. I need at least three hits to see any visuals whatsoever and even then the visuals are very mild. I unable to speak in coherrent sentences after only one dose though.

I find for me, it tends to come on in.
- 30mins: first alert, colours pop, get a bit of the 'ooh, its comming' feeling
- 60mins: the 1st peak
- 2 hours: peak #2, which tends to be more intense then peak #1.
Its like peak #1 comes, and is solid, then dips down a bit, then #2 comes, and goes even further then #1 in terms of intensity.
I typically do 3 hits now, and the visuals are always out of this world - buildings on hills looking like floating islands in the sky, female statues holding up bridges singing songs to the heavens, castles forming in the sky, warping, cartooning, over the top and crazy.
However, the visual aspect of psychedelics seems to hit me alot more than it does on other people.
