Ok so this is my first pod. It uses a Coolmist humidifier for air exchange, it runs every 5 minutes for a duration of 1 minute. Then the Ultrasonic runs every 20 minutes for a duration of 10 minutes. The ultrasonic now has a bottle attached to the output to catch some excess moisture (picture taken prior to that installment) They humidifiers are controlled by the Siemens LOGO PLC not a cheap item but was gift. Thanks Dad! I will be using a fish tank heater inside a jug filled with water to maintain temp. The RH stays at a steady 95%. Any suggestions before I put my cakes in there.

rofl all of that funky equipment could have been
substituted by geolite and a airpump for total of 30$,
giving you the EQUAL conditions.
guess u simply got too much cash on your hands.
anyway, whats that siemens unit do?

Yea but I had the LOGO just lying around and thought that I should finally put it to some good use. The Siemens LOGO is a progamable logic controller with 6 inputs none of wich I use and 4 outputs only use 2. It has the ability to count stuff and time things turn shit on and off do stuff when other stuff happens. I dont know how to make it do everything it does but its pretty cool, right now im just using it as a simmple timer.
As for having to much cash I really just had some wal-mart gift cards from christmas that needed to be used

I also figure that this setup could be used for a much larger, or multiple terrarium, which if this works is in the near future

Looks great, but the sides of your tub are semi clear. Your mushrooms will still grow ok, but in all kinds of weird directions. You might want to think about covering the sides and putting a light at the top.
How much does that plc cost? I want one.

I will be putting a window in the top with a flourescent and putting black fabric over the outside walls.
There was an auction on ebay for one

it sold for $76 but I have seen them up to $230 on ebay
On the auction it says 230v but it will also run at 120v ac

Pardon my ignorance, but why do you need both coolmist and ultrasonic? Can't you get enough air exchange AND humidity from only one of them?

I purchased the coolmist first it worked fine and produced plenty of humidity when it was inside the rubermaid. But when I altered it to attatch a vacum hose to the output (which maid it unable to be returned) it does not produce enough humidity by itself only about %70. Because when the cool mist is outside the rubbermaid it is trying to humidify drier air than if it is inside humidifing air that is of a higher humidity.
I Hope that made sense.

All the turning on and off of your cool mist (whats that like 288 times a day, I'm stoned but I think thats right)...will likly do bad things to it. These humidifiers only last so long anyway before they start crapping out. do something more like 20 minutes on every hour or something at the very least but running it all day would do you ok...the humidity will be quite high from just that and the ultrasonic will be plenty to get it up from there. Or do whatchu want

That LOGO is exactly what I've been craving, mac. I like your style. But I agree with scat, you're turning on and off is over kill. Average it out a bit.

LOL yea it is a bit overkill for that little tub, I just want to get it to work right first. A martha will fill my closet completely. I guess thats not such a bad thing. I will be expirementing with differnt timing to put less strain on the Humidifiers. Hey when the ultrasonic goes out I will exchange it for a new one at wall mart as it has not been modified. Will keep everyone posted on the progress.

My tub is semiclear too, so is the lid. Also a mist of droplets on the walls of the inside tub.
NO PROBLEM< the mushrooms grow up!

Keep a watchful eye on the water buildup in your hoses. It may start running back down those hoses and backing up inside your humidifiers. Sometimes this can cause leaks or other malfucntions. If this starts to happen just elevate the humidifiers above the level of your tub. This causes the water to run out into the tub. You can just place a glass below the hoses to catch the drips.
If you want to setup a martha without it taking up lots of space. You don't have to fully assemble it. You already have all the components other than the martha itself and some shelving. You can check out my setup posted here for an example if you like. 13eetle's Martha

It will be noticably fucked if its anything like mine...stuff gets eaten away and just blah. Of course mine is in the fruiting chamber so being out of the chamber may help...anyways good luck with all.
