I used to carry a badass smith&wesson homeland security knife, but some screws fell out so i need to weld it back together. its brutal looking and brutal sharp too.

In earnest I used to carry a knife when I was a kid.
Now I wear $150 heavy hiking boots.
You can run with em just fine and if you can't run you won't hurt your toes.

WORD to that MushMaster! It's a lame pun but a knife just doesn't cut it in self defense. Knifefighting (knife x knife) requires tremendous skill, bludgeons got reach, so it's more a weapen to keep off a fistfighter be deterrence (and piss him off) or as a criminal attacker's weapon.
Never rely on a weapon you do not master.
If you insist on a knife, use a real fighting knife like a Japanese Tanto.

i dont carry them for self defense, not to say i wouldnt use it if i needed to. mostly a hiking knife and around teh house. cleaned many a fingernail with it. cut screen, wood, plastic and god knwos what else and its held an edge for about a year. very good quality knife. best pocket knife ive ever owned or played with. funyn thing is new its $130 up here, i got it in a pawn shop in oregon for $20. im a happy customer!
