Wow, this poll is still happening??! I replied to this five years ago saying that both had their ups and downs, and I preferred opiates. 
Five years in the future, I must say that I love alcohol, particularly when I have caffeine with it (such as JOOSE).
I went four years without marijuana and didn't care much. Recently I have had marijuana several times and only really enjoyed it once. And that was because I drank a JOOSE before I sm0ked.

if i only have one to choose, cannabis, but my current profession doesn't allow me to partake (im a nurse). Gotta love a good cold beer after work (I used to work construction, and it get's hella hot in NC). A great glass of cabernet is also a favorite. Nothing, I mean nothing can compare to mushrooms in my book, and I'll chance it and smoke a little green next time I trip -- great combo

ahh, dude opiates! it's like alcohol and weed put together in a wonderfully addictive pill. Withdrawls suck.

Experienced cannabis for the fourth time in those many years I noted earlier. I was already incredibly drunk when I did it (with a friend who also hadn't smoked in years!), and we both had a great experience.
It leads me to recognize that I have much difficulty enjoying marijuana unless I am already drunk. And further thought reminds me that alcohol has enhanced the use of many drugs before:
-caffeine
-marijuana
-kava
-opiates
-mushrooms
etc.

nowadays i'd say weed
but back when i'd go with alcohol
it's given me some crazy/amazing nights/memories
so i chose alcohol

Weed makes me lazy, dumber and paranoid. I used to smoke a lot when I was younger and gave it up because of how lazy it made me. I quit for about 12 years, but started occasionally indulging again within the last year and I'm almost ready to give it up again. Alcohal only causes me problems if I over do it, which I rarely do.

I haven't gone more than six or seven days without alcohol for about a year and a half.
Smoked marijuana the other day when I had been drinking. Had a crippling anxiety attack the following morning.
Alcohol: 1 Marijuana: 0
