I go hunting with merkaba,we used to use his friend sam as a shroom radar. We cant anymore because we took his brain out so we can grow san pedro out of his head.

My advice ? Get a dog, and walk it regularly, in different/ new locations. Parks, 'parklands' (by that I mean kinda large/ wild parks), and forest/ total bush. As you've already wisely decided, don't just 'check your old spots'... we've had odd weather this last few years, and nothing can be relied on... (except your new dog, if you're nice to it!) More relevant to this thread, make sure you try and snap some pics of ALL the shrooms you find, active or not, and post the best pics of non actives at this thread, I love seeing what other dudes come across in Melbs... and look on the bright side, despite the drought, at least you've had a bit of luck this season... many would envy you on that score...

Hanky, if I didn't know better, I'd say the shrooms in the first picture you posted were cubes, 'cept they're growing out of the side of a tree...

I've been travelling Australia for 2 months now ... here's a few shrooms I found at the Blue Mountains. I've no idea what they are.

I'm pretty curious to know what the first two pictures are.
Peace, Munt.

This 'sea' of Strophoria aurantiaca in Melbourne, late June...
And a couple of lemon yellow shrooms, one left growing (1st pic) and one picked for examination (2nd pic)...
{edit: based on a more detailed post ("ID request for non PA Melbourne shroom...") ToxicMan suggested maybe an Agrocybe species, possibly A. praecox... hmmm, there's not too much out there on Aussie agrocybes...}

Where to start... I've been snapping away like mad the last few weekends and getting more and more fascinated every trip with the varieties of fungus I have seen
This one was sticky and slimey.

This cluster was about a foot across.

Seen a few of these, some white ones too.

Big boys
