Dying elms are a well known known habitat for morels. But they also grow around ash, aspen, cottonwood and more.

Man i'd love to get my hands on some morels (they do not grow in south florida, and rarely ever found in our grocery stores).
Last night we barbequed big button mushroom caps stuffed with crab-cake-stuff, lemon with fresh salmon, and baby-bellas with veggies [i almost died it was so good]. I ate so many edible mushrooms last night i started seeing colors and hallucinating (j/king).

WOOT! Just came back from the woods with 3 pounds of yellows and greys. Good day, heading to another spot tomorrow. Damn i wish i had a dig cam..
