wow just found this thread waterbug and i will post some pics of our little raised bed after we get some more stuff planted

we are going to do tomatoes, squash, onions, eggplant, and some potatoes
also a bunch of herbs and spices like rose mary, chives, need to get some garlic going, sage

because we live in the middle of the city we are very limited on how much space we have outside or we would have tons more vegetables going

Nice

You can grow some thing with little space for sure,
I did before I had all the space I have now.

Nothing taste better than something you grew yourself imho.

What are  eggplants? I know I could do a google search,
but I'd like to hear it from an american

As I still havent posted your second package  Do
you see any seed youed like to try on my list? As I could add
those as well ?

eggplants are strange im not to sure on how to describe it they produce a large purple fruit the only thing that i can think of that it is used in is eggplant parmisian (basicly its eggplant breaded and fried then covered in marinara sauce and cheese) tatse similar to yellow squash, i think it is a member of the nightshade family not to sure.

umm....whats up on those artichoke seeds? hehe

this stupid alabama weather has prevented us from getting much started we went from 38 F with ice and rain (3 days ago) to 78 F and sunny today so planting should begin this weekend

Well, the onion sets have started

The courgettes are in the ground

The first potato shoots have sprouted from the soil

The tomato seeds have been potted up

And some lions mane is fruiting on a birch log in the boarder

So all in all things are under way.
No sign of life from the french beans, nore the
peas I've planted, but i expect to see them break the soil
sureface some time in the next week.

Chilli seeds are sprouted, but not ready to pot on yet.

Your chillis are way ahead of mine, but i croped my first
cougettes this weekend, and some tomatoes are turning red :-)
Also time to dig up the potatoes and think of what to plant into there bed, any ideas of a late crop? maybe a fast crop like salad even.

P.s how did those jerusalem artichokes get on?

Down on our farm we picked some 80 pounds of bush beans. The acre of corn is nipple high with some prepubesent corns on em. The cucumbers have flowers. So does some of the other varieties of beans. Melons are still small. Not hot enough yet for em to realy sprawl out. Basil, dill, fennel all are about 8 to 12 inches thus far. Chickens that we started out as chicks are lookin plump and delicius. No pictures cuz I am a lazy bum so yall just need to use ur imagination and believe in the sheik.

They are growing very well, I think they like it where they are.

In the spice pot you see in my last post some very "spicy" shrooms popped up

lol outdoor cubensis in Austria ? Dam

Cropped my first tomatoes today, and digging up the potatoes tomorrow.
Getting plenty of courgettes now, they really are a must grow plant for any home grower, constantly fruiting all summer long.

Hmm my garden was put together last minute this year, but it seems to be going well. All your veggies seem to be progressing much better then mine, my tomatoes havn't even started producing yet hah.

A big patch of mint, some garlic, and a three year peach tree (off to the side):

Beans, one of the few things that are doing great this year:

Hmm, thats all for now upload limit met. Ill post the tomatoes, cucumbers, and other veggies tomorow. Pretty basic garden but its quite an enjoyable hobby. Just wish I didn't live in central toronto with such little garden space hah.
