Psilocybe cubensis "Creeper" on Poo cased

Skippy tried WBS with his favorite strain, Creepers. Proud to say that it's his best grow ever! :shocked:

1 Qt WBS Spawned to Pasteurized Horse Track Poo
2 1/2" of Poo in 12" X 10" X 3" Tub
Cased 60/40
Incubated
Automated Grow Chamber consists of
Computer Fan 2 minute cycles 4 times per 24 hours
Ultrasonic Humidifier 14 cycles per 24 hours keeping it 95% + RH.
13 cycles (10 minutes) (1 cycle 30 minutes at midnight)
Hand mists occasionaly when casing looks a little dry from Mushies wicking up water........

In Tub

Drying

Skippy is still working on getting complete coverage of the substrate. This first flush yield was about 50% of the over all casing!

More flushes to follow :smile:

Great flush!!!

However, your thread title is not accurate. You did not get 600 grams on 1 Qt WBS, you got 600 grams from manure spawned with 1 Qt WBS...that is quite a difference.

On your 60/40 did you use any lime and if so, what brand?

Also, did you use a vermiculite layer on the bottom? Holes in the bottom of container?

1) No lime this time around It is planned for the next grow.
Skippy has tried Calcium Carbonate in the past but the results are usually seen in the 2nd and 3rd flushes. So we will have to wait and see.
2) no hole drilled in bottom or verm on this batch......He does not over dunk his casings He lets them sit in the water for a few hours drains and then in the refridge overnight... So there is not much slush at the bottom.......

Hey Ele & SImple......

Humble thanks. Skippy is a type A and accepts nothing but excellent results.
This set up was completed as a result of all the hard work and experiments " the Elders" did here at the shroomery way before Skippy arrived.
It ran a few hundred to get going but his friends helped the cause and paid him back for all his hard work and quality. So now it's a freebie and it keeps on pumping out the love......... :mushroom2:

He just put the pieces of the puzzle together and tweeked it here and there. Skip loves to post it because he figures some others could use the technology too. Spread the love :grin:

The digi timer is a Intermatic available at most Home Boy Depos
The Kaz Ultrasonic Humidifier is at Wally World in the Pharmacy Section
Skip would have to dig up a old post with the closeups of the hose setup if any one is interested contact Skip anytime.

You add anything to the water to keep your humidifier clean? I remember having one back in the day and it would build up this orangy pink slime on the insides. Probably some sort of growth from something.

Skippy always puts around .05% of hydrogen Perixide in his mister and spray bottle keeps the comtams away but has heard that peroxide is not that effective after a few days in the water...... it works for him.........

Well here is the 3rd flush Yepo Monster Singletons allright!!

Some were picked in the front of the tray b4 this was taken

185 gms wet

So it appears that there was some green mold growing SKippy removes it and sprayed with H2O2 and water so we will see if a 4th flush is doable........

dunno your casing method and you may have heard this before but these things help my foaf acheive nice pinsets:

-save back 5% of colonized spawn for top layer of casing. this will help speed up the colonization the casing layer while providing a sort of contam sheild to the rest of the substrate below.

-patch the casing layer once mycelium has started to break through the valleys.

-generously water casing for the first 3 days after applying casing layer. it helps if you have holes in your tray for excess water to run off.

-casing rings!! highly underestimated and easy to build. these will help you acheive a level casing.

-my foaf likes fairly thin casing layers for substrates thinner than 3". go with about 1/4" - 1/8" casing layer and see how that does for you.
