I see your point, but in my defense, $1 is easy to get, $100 takes a little bit of time, but $1 million dollars is basically impossible to get. If it were about $1 and $100, I'd take the chance, because fuck it, if I lost, I could still make $100 fairly easily.

agreed. I dont need 100 million to be happy. shit I dont even need a million to be happy. But it will buy me a house, pay off my debts, and leave me with a small retirement fund.
that is enough for me.
I took the sure thing, and would have guessed odd, so I guess in retrospect the hypothetical choice was a good idea!

Losing 1 dollar is fucking nothing, OF COURSE you would bet the 100. Your "simple" concept isn't even relative to the large amount of money.
A million dollars is A LOT OF MONEY. 100 million is just simply a gigantic amount. Its a lot more problematic if you don't win the 100 mill, you'd be out a guaranteed million. That is a lot of money to just lose. That million could last you years and years and take a huge financial burden off your chest for awhile.

I say go with the sure money every time. I got $1 million dollars guaranteed I can do anything I want to do and still have money left over to invest. 50/50 chance for nothing, when I could of had a million? No thanks. Sure it'd be nice to have 100 million but you have exactly the same odds of walking away with nothing and just imagine how depressed you'll be when you lose 1 million dollars. Your life becomes a downward spiral of depression and woe, you begin to beat your wife and drink heavily. Soon, the inevitable crack/prostitution gets involved and in no time you have AIDS. You die in a shallow puddle.
Meanwhile, I invested my left over money after I traveled the world in the stock market and various start up small businesses, and am now worth approximately $1.25 billion.
