Two weeks ago, found a shite load of milk caps (about 2kg) that I stuck in a pasta dish and Shite load of amantias that i did not stick in a pasta dish! A couple of look a likes but no actives.
Had to stop picking milk caps as there was no room left in my bag! If only I could land a subs stash like that

Alright, anyone else not a believer the season has started?!?!?!

Found in a inner city park half an hour ago on my way home!
Searched the entire park and nothing else. I tucked them into bed and will check on them in the morning!
A little dry, but hope we get some dampness overnight!!!!

Bloody snail ate half of the caps!!!!!!!
That snail is having a ripping time right now.
Imagine a snails brain on mushrooms!

This is what he/she would be seeing!

Just in case there is anyone left out there reading this thread bar me, I shall post again!
Same park as above checked a few more spots and found a patch of about 40! Biggest concentrated pack I had ever seen!!!!

There is hope yet mushroom hunters!
Picked up about 50 gram of fresh. A few big ones but mostly small to medium. Fair few had been attacked by tripping snails but plenty left for me! Left about 10-15 smalls to see if they develop over the weekend.
Can I get an identify and a hell yeah?

Sorry to contribute to the nothingness in this thread: Went for a stroll a day ago after heavy rain fall in the SE, nothing.
I'm a happy camper though, all in good time.

Haha cool find! Very good for this time of the year.
I still say there is about 2-3 week period before it really picks up if it rains.

Just came back from a very relaxing 3hr hunt about 130km north of Melb CBD and found no actives, no pinning.
However, i did find these..

No idea what they are, but some look quite nice.
Also, it was quite weird to see so many different types of mushrooms, broken and scattered through the forest floor. What is the point of breaking them? Is it sort of a 'sign' of saying "This is my area" or other reasons behind it?

1) maybe Leratiomyces ceres but also looks more like a Marasmius species; Can we see a pic of the underside? 2) Amanita, probably from section Vaginata 3) Can we see a cross section? 4) Agaricus species 5) maybe Cortinarius or something 6) maybe Leratiomyces ceres but also looks more like a Marasmius species; Can we see a pic of the underside? 7) I have no idea what this is so I am going to see if I can get away with calling it a Xerula.

I would call it a Xerula too. I am sure they had a name change though, and X. australis got split up into a heap of mushrooms.
