Thanks.
Of course the cure for life IS death. I've long considered death our ace in the hole. An old friend long gone used to say, "brother remember this, survival is overrated".
I've lived a long time. I've watched a lot of shit go down and I've watched almost every belief I've loved and cherished crumble in the light of apparent reality. When I look out over the human landscape I see a wasteland of suffering and ignorance. And that's just the tip of the iceburg.
Whatever's going on here is far far beyond my comprehension. I'm not going to sit here and sooth myself by pretending I know things I don't. That might play out well here but not alone in my own thoughts and feelings.
So I make some attempt at being truthful from time to time. For my own peace of mind which is very hard to come by after a long life among this band of primates who seem totally terrified by their impermanence and will lie like a rug to avoid that singular truth. I'm terrified too but for some reason lying doesn't make it feel better in my case. Odd man out.

Wise words.
I think most all of us can respect the incomprehensible nature of reality and our lack of control, but in my own case I rather enjoy alternating ideologies and identities (I choose to call them "masks"). The developmental course of a human seems to unfold in phases; there are both biological and psychological terms to reference these patterns and changes. Something I believe people have a harder time respecting is their own molting process, and how the worldviews we inhabit, like drivers in an automobile, will be gradually refurbished and hammered out throughout our lives. What I'm saying now, for instance, is perfectly subject to being nonsensical bullshit to the "future me" - and it rather should be, if we say that we are capable of growing at all.
But growing towards what?
Squirming in our uncertainty creates a lot of hoots and hollers, much of it very beautiful and bringing people together emotionally (or together in hilarity if we're in proper company). Whether such interpretations/fanciful creations are motivated by awe or fear depends on the person and the moment. Allowing for contradiction; for error; for uncertainty; for diversity in acting, this seems to be the compassionate path. Unfortunately, it seems part of the tribal monkey game is dealing the cards to everyone around you, as I'm doing here. We aren't content just with our own hand. "Maybe the hermit abstains from proselytizing, but fuck him, he doesn't pay taxes."
If we realize that it ultimately finishes with our demise: what we do in this long expanse of nothing is up to free will. But then there is little evidence of free will, so we get to grapple with a mind that has figured out it is partially programmed, by imprints and a trillion other consciousness co-creators. Then we find ourselves learning about inter-dimensionality, connectedness, the non-Self, the web, the illusion, and other such back rubs to ease the next anxieties. Every new "truth" (relative or not) is complemented by a new freedom as well as a new ball and chain.
At the end of the day we have to give in to sleep. You can't make sleep come, it's something you allow to happen. So, like the Mystery of being, and the Mystery of death, we have to allow it to happen. Just like we allowed ourselves to be born. Oh wait, we didn't have a hand in that either. Who's running this?

Maybe I heard that there a long time ago. I'm a plagiarist I'm a fan of the guy. I don't think he was laughing so much at the end from the interviews I read but he still went through that end with grace and he provided me with a lot of food for thought and a lot of nice fantasy to play with.

It's the synchronicity that intrigues me regarding the quote, rather than any plagiarism (there's nothing new under the sun, anyhow). RAW spoke of 'Hilaritas' as a measurement of wisdom, Alan Watts was a jokester, etc.
Terence's death did seem quiet graceful. Here he is speaking about him dying soon with Art Bell. The whole thing is about his death, but I trimmed the vid at the "bowing out gracefully" part.

Funny thing. You know, all those folks around saying 'I am god' are incredibly lucky. If people actually believed us, then they would also blame us for all the shit that happens. I remember a guy that kept saying it and they actually believed him. He ended up nailed on a cross.

I've seen this interview.
I think how you die is important to only one person really.

Sad, I've seen that before. This winter I watched a hawk take a Male Flicker on the sidewalk. The next day I saw the female on the ground staring at the feathers. It hit me hard actually. Everything is feeling the impermanence.

I'm not sure if that bird is mating or mourning. I've seen the girls that hang around until last call, there isn't much difference.

I thought that one bird fucked the other one to death. If it's mourning, then that's sad, but at least there is loldongs around, .
Elephants, and from my experience, dogs as well mourn the dead. I'm sure dolphins and other marine life do as well. I once had two dogs, and when the other one died, my other one was clearly depressed for a good year. But it sure is odd.. I think Ernest Becker may be wrong in associating death-anxiety to solely humans, because of this:

We would circle jerk ourselves to death, no need for suicide. Unless by shotgun and lube you're referring to DMT and ketamine.

Words like god and love just don't seem to hit home. They fire neural pathways associated with things like invisible magic things and sex.
Yes it IS love, but anyone who knows will know it's nothing like love between two persons. I like to call it 'the force of creation' when talking to people.

Well if it was that "one" love and it's gone then you can forget about another one.
