Dear Anon. 6,
I would like to apologize for my rudeness.
After further consideration, I realized that I am the cro magnon of this thread.
Although we disagree, it is obvious that you are blessed with above-average intelligence. I called you dumb because I wanted to win an argument, but like you implied, it is a poor debate tactic. I also think my being around academic people all the time has left me feeling intellectually average. Perhaps this contributed to my desire to pretend to hold the intellectual high ground (poor excuse I know).
Our argument made me realize that I am not fully past the anger problems I thought I conquered in late adolescence. I'm glad I saw this come out because it reminded me to work to control this primitive impulse.
