awesome. finally one of my current 3-4 tv series has restarted again. i was a bit pissed to find out that season 2 took a "mid season break"?!? what kind of shit is that. glad to see walking dead is returning with new episodes though.

i think they are going to kill the farmer and take over his farm. or maybe not kill him but just take over the farm. but then again that may be wrong, because the whole series can't be spent living on that same farm... so some shit will probably go down and they will end up leaving and venturing on to new areas.

In one of the previews it shows a car flying off the side of the road and flipping upside-down in midair.... maybe somebody will die, but at least they will probably leave the farm.
Season 1: Pretty damn good
First half of season 2: Search for little girl, pet a deer resulting in almost dead little boy, live on a farm for a month, while the little girl is a zombie and 50 feet away from them the whole time.

I'm pretty sure they split the season so they could piggyback their new shows on Walking Dead and boost their ratings. They started Hell On Wheels shortly after Walking Dead's second season started, and tonight they're debuting Comic Book Men following Walking Dead's mid-season return.

Walking dead only has one more episode to go - All the episodes since the barn episode have been great.
Hell On Wheels was OK but did not really hit the mark - Deadwood was much better

if the next episode is the last episode then SHIT IS GOING TO GO DOWN. end of season episodes are always epic. i predict rick is going to kill shane, or shane is going to kill rick. there will be a change of control in the group. or the farm gets over-run and they all have to flea or something.

episode 12 was such a good episode dude omfg. it has made me like walking dead again. previously it was like ehhh, show is alright, i'll just keep watching because it's a new show and i've been watching it. but now i'm actually looking forward to episodes and shit.

back when that fat dude died and he shaved his head, he had a cut on his head. I thought he was infected way back then and was trying to cover it up and try to say he cut himself shaving then nothing ever happened. But these delayed infections sure put a twist in things, pretty much everyone could be infected. The kid could be if the deer was infected, that asian boy went missing for a bit behind that bar maybe something happened there we didn't see, that biker guy when he went crazy, rick end of last episode his hands covered in infected blood, think someone touched the tree that had blood on it too anyways

Here here's read the comic and am I the only one that gets that 'low budget' feel from the TV series and thinking there Milking it with that whole talking dead thing. I haven't read the comic though.

it doesn't seem to be that low budget to me. sure they haven't gone all out or anything, but i definately don't get the ' cheap ' feel from watching it. there are a few scenes that do look a bit dodgy, i.e. where some zombies get stabbed with a pitchfork type thing and it was all CGI. and some of the zombie corpses in dying shots look a bit cheap. but all in all it's still fairly good.

actually i think i just worked it out as to how shane became a zombie, he was stabbed with Rick's knife, which rick has used to kill other zombies.----> shane got infected from it. i think thats more like it right? becuase they were saying throughout the series that once they get bit they turn with in a few days or something. i don't think he could have been a silent carrier of the virus.
But then again, this doesn't explain how randall was also infected and turned into a zombie. remember after glen and daryl killed him , they checked his body for bite marks and wounds and found nothing. one other theory i had was that randall was infected in the barn, where all the zombies lived for ages. he had those wounds on his wrists where the handcuffs were, and somehow got infected through that.

For all the talk of how two people in the last episode turned into zombies without a zombie present.
Remember the guy at the CDC whispered something into Rick's ear, which Rick has yet to tell anyone.
In just a few previous episodes we also saw two headhots, one to put Dale down and one in the fat guys head at the bar, which Rick made sure to do after dropping him with two to the chest.
On another note, George Romero movies never needed a bite to turn someone into a zombie, they just needed to be dead.

Ok, so I have a question that is bugging the shit out of me every time I watch this show now. All it takes is getting some zombie blood or saliva into a wound to turn someone, right?
So what the fuck? There are SOOO many times when they have come into CLOSE physical contact with zombies while all cut up and abraded. And its like they don't even worry about it! "Hmmm, these guys died from being infected by scratches, I'll just cut my hand open and use the blood as bait, then stab the zombies in the head..." WTF?

Has anyone on this show been turned from a scratch?
Just remembered that was Rick's "excuse" when him and Shane found the two cops that where zombies with out any bite marks. That was when the two of them went to drop that guy off in some random town a few episodes back.
I think all they have to do is die to become a zombie.

Yeah they die, but if you get infected, you get sick and it kills you, right? All I know is if you can get turned by being bitten, then you should get turned by having an open wound and then getting zombie splatter in it.

Maybe it takes a bigger exchange of zombie saliva and a gaping open wound on the victim.
I am going to have to rewatch the first season soon, but I have a feeling these questions will be answered in the finally.
Shane, Glen, Daryl and Carl have questioned what is going on, and I have a feeling the guy at the CDC told Rick the answer.

Yeah, the series is about Rick from what I have heard. Everyone else is expendable.
Dale died later in the comics, and Shane never made it to the farm.
Season three will happen, they are already signing up new actors.

yeah most zombie movies you have to be bitten by the zombie, or contract the disease somehow. Like in Return of the Living Dead and the zombie rain.
I actually think the show is really good. Season 1 was great. The first half of season 2 was fucking retarded. The second half of season 2 has redeemed the first half imo. I mean it's totally different from the graphic novel, but not entirely. I thought Carl was gonna kill Shane, like he does in the comics...haha he sort of did!
So now we gotta assume everyone has the disease, and when they die, they come back as a zombie. Is that what the guy at the CDC told Rick??
Obviously a zombie hoard is going to overrun the farm and more people will probably die. They HAVE to leave the farm, fucking finally. I mean this is an apocalypse, right? They're living in a nice ass house, just being dramatic. There needs to be more about the struggle to survive. Eventually all the food would spoil, you'd have to grow everything yourself (convenient they're on a farm...)...finding clean water would suck.
Who do you think is gonna die? I hope Hershel dies, i also hate Carol, T-Dog is pretty expendable at this point. Lori pisses me off too, in the comics she gets shotgunned in the back, crushing the baby but I'd love to see her die.

yah, its pretty clear after that last episode. I hear that according to the comic they won't be at the farm for much longer. I can't wait till they get moving again. also, i was speaking to a friend of mine who said he read an interview somewhere, and apparently dale's character was killed off prematurely due to some dispute with the producers. apparently one of the producers got fired, and dales character was good friends with him or something and asked to leave the show because of it, and so they had to write his character out of the show

Ugh this show pisses me off. a) its a soap opera that's absolutely terrible unless the awesome zombies on on screen.
b) the characters are retarded and keep getting killed as a result. These people have so much time and resources but they use it to just dick around crying and threatening each other.
Protip:
- zombies don't drive cars. plan for quick access to cars
- There is a limited amount of zombies. Even if you encounter a huge mob, its likely to only be coming from 1 direction, plan 2 directions of escape.
- lol there ARE FUCKING ZOMBIES WALKING AROUND. Maybe like... i dunno setting up some sort of warning system would be a good idea. they have a whole civilization worth of shit they can use, i'm sure they could go to a home depot and get like 50 motion detectors. Or they could just sprinkle cups or something everywhere so noise gets made as they get broken. Seriously these people hang out next to the woods with its terrible field of vision, they don't post sentries, they're just retarded.

I think its a fairly believable group tho. There are clearly other people doing things differently out there, but these guys are all so desperately trying to hang on to their friends and families and the whole comfort of home aspects of their old lives that they arent focused enough on maximum efficiency and proactive strategy. That's gonna change with more of their dumb asses getting killed off

yeah you'd think with all the dying, they'd speed up the awareness of tactics a bit.
Anyhow, i think this show could be good, if they made it about how the group is going insane from survival pressure and the loss of societal re-enforcement. They can't dick around and draw it out so much though.
2nd season has been straight bad. first couple episodes are the only good part for me. zombies and zombie fighting.

I've read some of the comics and damn they really dragged Shane on in the show. They seem to be stuck on the farm from what I'm seeing on the show it's taking a whole 'nother direction from the comics. There's also several characters missing in the TV series that are in the comic.
It's actually so dissimilar from the show I've kind of lost interest in the comic because it's like two different stories.

they post zombie watchers all the time, that one chick is always sitting ontop of the moterhome
as for sentrys or w/e they were putting up fence altho that may have just been for the barn but still thats to protect the house incase they get out so doesn't matter
the most recent episode they just talked about putting cars near the house for easy escape
and i was kind of thinking shane was acting all crazy because he was infected
so yah they been doing alot of the things u say, maybe u missed a few episodes or w/e

since they've been on the farm? i remember the guy in the well, and maybe a sniper shot near the treelines, then the walker carl brought back but the old guy got caught because he went rogue. really hasn't been that many zombies near the farm besides the barn. maybe they arn't posted all the time but i coulda sworn i remembered them taking about taking shifts on it when they first got there and most of the scenes with that girl she's near the motorhome,

If they'd changed up Lord of the Rings drastically, or Sin City, or Game of Thrones, none of them would have been absolutely epic.

All of those you mentioned were movies...This is a series...As such, there is no fixed beginning/middle/end structure..to follow the book closely limits the length of the series...and...if it gets cancelled prematurely, cuts the story off prematurely..
Instead, because it is a series, the best choice is to take the heart of the original material...some of the characters...some of the conflict...and create a more open-ended version...

Well I could probably tell you exactly what is going to happen but I don't want to spoil anything! The show follows pretty close to the comic. They take some creative liberties here and there, adding characters, killing others at different times, but the story is really about Rick. What ultimately happens to Rick, I don't even know...I haven't finished reading the comics yet!
Although, I could spoil a lot of stuff but what fun is that

The story is ultimately about Carl.
Major Differences so far:
- Daryl does not exist in the comics. (Robert Kirkman might be trying to introduce him in some new stuff)
- Otis is skinny and outlived Shane in the comics (as opposed to being the fat guy Shane killed early in the season).
- Sofia doesn't die and turn into a Zombie.
- Carl kills Shane a lot earlier. Pretty much the same setup, except Rick doesn't kill Shane first.
- Dale doesn't get eaten by a Zombie on Herschel's farm, he gets bitten during their stay at prison and has his leg amputated, but he survives.
Anyone else think of any major differences? Please things that have only happened so far in the TV series so as to not ruin next season for some.

It is a shame it is not based on a book - I love zombie movies and the walking dead - but i despise reading comics with a passion, I just can not relate to them.

I would actually compare reading a comic to watching it on film.
I can't really get into comics myself and don't see how a book is the same thing as a comic sans pictures.
(early season 2 scene - the Walking Dead)
does not equal
Book needs more kpows.

either way, in the end they are the same. it's a story, told through words and pictures. theres a lot of dialogue and it's a great story. if you are too much of a turd to read it because you don't like comics, then you're missing out.
