Your gravedigger story is a lot different than all of this thread, thanks for sharing. I hate when people use the term "like a movie.' but in your story it works great.
I think that my worst job was on a farm bailing hay. I wasn't fully expecting hard work at the time so it was the hardest but taught me how to work.
I work as a dishwasher and the job is painful, my hands get nasty and I get sliced easily on the kitchen pans. My hands are completely immune to pain now though, I can seriously be gashed and not feel it.

Shittiest job I ever had was working for a temp agency. My first job with them was to work at the Clynk warehouse...absolutely terrible. I had to work the night shifts, and let me tell you, this job was mentally and physically tasking. My first night went smoothly I guess, I had to unload shit tons of bags of bottles from 6 trucks and move them to a big pile. Usually there were about 8 people unloading, and it would take around 2-3 hours. I managed to whack myself in the head a few times on accident while trying to swing the bags in to the pile, several wine bottles to the face does not feel good.
I also should have added the fact that there were only like 2 white people including myself, that were working the night shift, the rest were either Somalian or as black as tarry stool.
After we unloaded all the bags, it was time to hop on the machines, where we mindlessly threw bottles up the conveyer belt and would be accounted for. The majority of the time, however, the bottles would not scan and would roll back down the conveyer to be scanned again...and again...forever. What sucked even more was when I got a bottle sent back that was still full and exploded all over me when it came back down at the speed of sound.
After my first night, I started losing my shit and could tell I was losing my sanity. This wasn't all though, this is just where it begins.
Months went by, and working there was completely draining any piece of soul I might have left. I also got the fortunate job at the warehouse of taking all the plastic bottles out of huge dumpsters filled with broken glass, every god damned morning, before I was allowed to leave. One of the nights that I was working there, my socks got completely drenched with sweat and moldy beer, so I decided to take them off, not thinking about the fact that I would be in a huge dumpster full of glass within the next 5 hours.
So, 5am rolls around, and it's time. This fat guy whose name I don't even remotely care to remember, comes bouncing towards me and genuinely says to me "Hey MATT! Got a great job for you, wanna head over to them there dumpsters." Sure thing douche bag, what better way do I have to spend my time here than fishing in glass shards for plastic bottles...
So I hop in the fucking thing, and start looking for the sacred shit, not thinking about the fact that I don't have socks, and then it happened. I slipped, and all the weight of the glass slipped with me, like a landslide. Tiny little specks of glass flooded my shoes and my entire being. This was life...
The working conditions at this place, were less than abysmal. I'm surprised I didn't contract hepatitis, I might have, but I haven't bothered checking or caring.
I really could go on and on, but writing about it doesn't do this place justice...it is in all sense of the word, a fucking hell.
-------------------- Good bye to everyone, my time here was well spent, and I think I have gained a lot from coming here. The internet has become to much of a priority for me, and I think I am ready to let it go for a while. < Who am I kidding...I'm hooked for life.

Carrying my mothers ashes in my arms during the road trip and final walk to the ocean where we scattered it as her final resting place.
On the road trip back I had the overwhelming urge to kill myself on the spot by jumping out of the car when my brother had it floored to 90mph.

For somebody my age, I've done a pretty wide variety of different shitty jobs. Two really stand out.
1) I'd just returned to my hometown after a summer of adventure and had been doing some temp agency jobs while I looked for something more permanent. I went to drop off some of the agency's work gear one day and they told me they needed some people to do some work at a poultry processing plant the next morning.
A poultry processing plant? I don't know... says I. Oh don't worry, it's just unloading some trucks, they tell me.
So me and 3 others carpooled there the next morning. They bring us into a very large room with conveyor belts and machinery everywhere. We're given full body rubber suits to put on. Something's not right here.
Plucked dead chickens begin flowing in hanging on hooks via the conveyor belt. Each group/station has a different job--beheading it, and doing everything else to get it ready to be packaged and sold.
In the beginning I'm positioned at the end of the line. My job is to catch the chickens that the previous station tosses to me and set them on the outgoing conveyor belt. Despite my initial misgivings I get into a groove and figure I can tough this out until the end of the day.
Unfortunately after about 30 minutes of this the floor supervisor decides to put me at a different station. My job is now to shove a powerful vacuum hose up the chickens' asses and vacuum out their insides. Not only was this really fucking gross (guts and shit and blood going all over the floor and myself), but it was rather hard work considering how fast the conveyor was moving. I lasted maybe an hour at that station before walking out, finding my way to the nearest town several miles away, and phoning a friend to come pick me up. I never went back to that temp agency. I kept their rubber boots. I figured they owed me that much.
2) My current job at the local 7eleven. I know it doesn't seem that bad from the outside, but I find it horrible. I'm there for 10 hours per shift by myself (which means I don't get any sort of real break due to the constant customer flow). Most of my shifts involve counting and ordering about 200 products in addition to the normal shift work, all while helping every customer by myself. It doesn't help that I'm not a people person at all and loathe working with the general public all day.
It probably seems like I'm just being a lazy whiny bitch for complaining about that last one, but I'm not usually one to complain a lot about my job. It truly is an awful job and time crawls by when I'm there. I have a good work ethic and absolutely love my other part-time job (as a line cook). Can't wait until summer time when I can get full-time hours there and quit 7eleven.

shittiest job I ever done was when I was a farrowing tech for a hog barn. I enjoyed the job actually. The shoveling shit out of the pens was the worst part. It stunk, and quite often there would be rotten afterbirth mixed with scours and shit. Then pressure washing the rooms after was not quite as bad, but the smell of vaporized shit in a warm steamy room was not to pleasing. You get use to it though.
Working with the piglets was pretty cool. Each sow has its own personality too. The barn I worked in had 2400 sows. each sow had its ID number, but after a while you get to notice the differences between each one. some are just assholes, and others quite affectionate.
Over all It was a decent job. up at 5am done by 2pm. never really see anybody, only worked with 4 other people. pay was decent too.

I once moderated a message board dedicated to growing a schedule 1 substance. I was paid next to nothing, got no respect, frequently had to listen to children complain over nothing.. god, it was terrible. They tried to bribe me with this "support" account that was dirt cheap to begin with, but I had already used the spare change in my car's ashtray to get it before I was given mod status. Basically, I paid money to get nothing.

Sorry, NWLight. I mistook you for LustfulLinsanity who thinks cancer is a beautiful thing and frequently makes posts about how funny it is to rip people off, etc. etc.
Can't link any of the other gems because they've mostly been deleted.
Honestly you guys couldn't tell I was joking with the mod thing?

also, alcohol.
and the fact that i feel that way sometimes; the whole mod "job" thing.

Working on a horse farm when I was in high school. It started out that I would groom the horses, clean up around the barns, and just be a general worker on the farm. Sounded cool. Well, more and more I gradually just became the person that "picked the stalls" (shoveled horse shit), until it was my full time job. I quit after 2 months.
