What an interesting experience!
I Make tea with 2g of pretty potent cubes. Drank it about 15 minutes before I hopped in. I was def feeling something before actually getting in because I noticed the awesome art on the walls in the lobby was taking on quite an animate form.
The people working new what I was up to because I had warned them previously and they were really cool about it. in fact it was not really discussed, just an understanding.
When I hopped in, I was a bit uneasy. I am normally very comfortable in the tanks but under these circumstances it was a lil dodgy. the primary issue for me was not wanting to get nauseous being on mushrooms. when you are floating there after just getting in, there is an inclination to hold onto the sides to stabilize until the water simmers, but when you let go your internal GPS shuts off pretty much instantaneously. I noticed when i let go nausea was much more apparent.
I knew why I was there and why I went through with the experience and so convinced myself just to sit tight with it.
After letting go and fully floating the immediate sensation that it was a little harder to breathe and the walls were closing in, and actually passing over me. I sat with that sensation for a while until I was comfortable with it.
After that is when it got pretty interesting. Although there were very minor closed/open eye visuals, it was the auditory hallucinations that were amazing/beautiful/intense/consuming.
It is as if I were writing really fascinating pieces of music with my mind alone, feeling, hearing, experiencing each sound. And while in slight control of how it was all happening, it was certainly happening of itself.
If I pulled away one thing from it, it is to be more patient with sensations.
Sensations that we normally pull away from, hide from, or try not to experience. It is when you face these sensations and metaphorically "say hello" to them as a passive observer that they no longer have control over you. I could make this longer, but we are a bunch of stoners and nobody wants to wait for a tl:dr post, so if you wish to know more, feel free to ask.

Moreso a furthered understanding as to how timbre change effects how I feel, and how I assume it would be generally felt by others.

Wow this is pretty interesting. I have an irrational fear of water so Idk if i could ever do that. But from the sounds of it its awesome. I get the chills really while tripping when i walk outside. its like the slightest temp change does it. Id hope they had it set piss warm for ya.

Sensations are an interesting thing because I feel a majority of people feel as if something is happening TO them. And I would imagine that all have experienced this at some point in time.
But, I would present another perspective on the matter. and that is that we ARE the sensation, and it is not a separate thing from who we are. The feeler and the feeling are one.
I would encourage anyone as a thought experiment: Next time you are feeling something and you decide you do not like it (physical pain, mental pain, bad situation, hunger, tiredness ect, ect) instead of dismissing it as something other that what is pleasurable to you be with it. Experience it to it's length. Follow it to the end of it's extent. And what I Feel/hope you will find is at the end, there is nothing. You find that the sensation was but an illusion. I guess to say that is letting the cat out of the bag a bit, but I would encourage you to try it for yourself and see what you come up with.

I cover shifts primarily and manage a music project for the float place. not a lab, just a store front. it is the best job I could imagine! unfortunately I do not get enough hours to work there alone.

ive never done a tank trip but i can guarantee that you do not need sensory input at all. if anything, i dont like sensory input when i trip.
when i take mushrooms its usually between 7-10g. i do it alone, at night, in bed, lights out, no music, no tv, no movement. your brain will take you to places you could NEVER get to walking around the woods.
