 Mad Bag Growing

Well swim is planning on growing mushies from Mad Bags that he will receive about December 5(w/spore syringes from somewhere else). The strains he hopes to cultivate is Koh Sumai and Lipa Yai. Swim has ordered 16 Mad bags. Swim will use 4 10cc syringes, applying 2.5cc's per bag. This is Swims first experience with growing anything. Swims plan is to follow Mad Seasons directions except during fruiting, the bags will sit in a humidity tent he constructed. Swim's been lurking theses forums like c.h.u.d for 6 months now. Swim has only had mushies once, but he was wasted and stoned as shit. This is very exciting stuff for swim. He will keep a log with pictures for every post. Will ask swim for pretty clear pictures. Any advice or critiques would be much appreciated, especially from seasoned shroomery members. Thanks in advanced.

I did my first grow with madbags and used 2.5 ccs as well. After thy colonized i dunked and rolled and put them in a terranium and got 2 ounces from each bag. Got 8 flushes outta the best bag. Madbags are great. I grew only mazatapecs. I tried b plus and treasure coast but they didnt colonize for some reason so i just stuck withmazzies and never had any contam problems

Make sure you mash the bags up real good to mix the mycelium when thy are 50 percent colonizd. Dont worry after you do itl be less then one week till theyre 100 percent. Just dont let the grain touch filter patch. Gotta keep that dry to keep out contams

Oh and before you initially inoculate the bags mash thebags cause they come pretty dense from shipping. That will help them colonize faster.You may already know that but incase you didnt

Alright thanks. Swim was actually thinking of trying 4 different strains now. What do you think? Koh Sumai, Lipa Yai, Pink Buffalo, Mazatapec(What's your experience with these?)
Also, what kind of process did you use from inoculation to incubation storing? I mostly wonder of the sanitizing process of the workspace and syringe(flame sterilize?)

Mazzies are great. Very contam resistant but that coulda been a fluke. I used a whole can of oust in closet that i bleached first. Then alcohol and flamed needles between each innoc. Mazzies are themost spiritual trip ivehad from shrooms. I know some people say strains dont matter but they def felt unique. Um i kept bags incubating at 70-75 degrees. Stay away from 80 .faster colonizing but more likely to contam. And for the terranium iused a tote with perlite and air pump for air plus i opened and fanned when i wasnt working. Definately dunk the cakes in water for 24 hours and roll in fine vermiculite. Youll get mad pins. Check out my first post i took a picture of my luck.ithink its my first post

You are very naive is you think that using SWIM in your sentences would ever in a million years hold up in court. You honestly think someone is going to read that and be like "oh no, theres no proof this is him doing all this stuff. Its really someone that isn't him" You might as well give it up. Will save you lots of time typing, trust me.

Yeah its fine. Personally i would make sure u label them so you dont mix em up. That way u can test the whole strain theory and make you own assumption

Lol the dude above you, I think he's ingested the fruit of the gods. Any who, the operation has changed. There will now be 10 Mad Bags. 3 Spore Syringes(about 3cc's each). The changes were made so a terrarium could be built and stay within budget. The terrarium is 2 14 Gallon Rubbermaid storage containers, stacked with aquarium heater and water between(standard). Inside there will be perlite and a humidity/thermometer gauge. A air pump will be run through a check valve air filter and a Tropicare humidifier into said terrarium. Correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't you leave the fresh picked mushrooms on a tray inside the terrarium with the air pump running(no humidifier of coarse) for a few days. Wouldn't that dry them good? What ever happens, everything will be photographed and posted with captions and notes.

No, it wouldn't. Sitting them in front of a fan in open air would work better. A dehydrator would work best.

Zomg, well I screwed that all up. I started in my car thinking It was less drafty then my house and less sporey(lol). It started fogging up and my glasses started fogging and I didn't really know how to operate the syringes lol, i tried to put it on over the cover(im stupid i know) so the needle was in open air for like 30 seconds and then i couldnt really see, then i kinda melted the injection port a lil bit. So i decided to move this inside. Well i forgot to close the vent DIRECTLY over head(FUUUCK) I was just a fucking mess. I'm pretty sure there all fucked. Any who, I ordered 3 more and I'm gonna try this again put prepared and not fumble with the syringe and shit. Any tips other than 'get smarter' and pk tek. I don't have anything for that at all, and I go to college. I don't have 300 dollars to get a pc and shit. I eat Top Ramen man.

$300 for a pc? You can get a bomb ass presto 23qt for like $60-$70 and oh can find them for like $20 on Craigslist  its your best bet.
