This game is going to be a lot like Oblivion but with even more variety. Is Skyrim smaller than Cyrodil? From what I have seen it is.
Everything released says the exact opposite, that this is going to be Oblivion with less variety, less options.
I don't know. Dragons, werewolves, dual wielding, greater character customization, richer graphics and environment, better combat, and many more voice actors just to name a few things. How will there be less variety and options?
Torso and leg armor have been combined, you are no longer allowed to create your own spells, and alchemy has been "streamlined" - or so I head. Leveling up doesn't offer you choices like it used to.
If you think Oblivion was complicated, sorry, but you're probably one of the nincompoops that call Skyrim "Oblivion 2" instead of "The Elder Scrolls 5" -> you're up against a long history and a really rich community that used to be based on nerds, who are being ousted in the interests of run-and-gun style game-play. Game will be great either way, Bethsoft doesn't fuck around. It's just not going to be the open-ended character creation we all knew and loves the TES series for.
This is VERY upsetting. The changed leveling system doesn't bother me much, in fact I think it will be an improvement, but the combined upper and lower body armors is truly a let down. One of my favorite things to do in an RPG is mix and match different armors to create a new, unique appearance. Hopefully we'll see some mods to address this, as I think a lot of fans are going to be disappointed by it. In a game revolved around freedom and being who you want to be, customizing your attire is essential...

Luckily enchanting items has not been removed. That would be a huge disappointment. I am eager to see what that will be like in Skyrim. Hopefully there are even more options.
And I like the new look to detecting life. I will probably use it more this time around. I'd like to ask again, if anyone knows: How does Skyrim compare to Cyrodil in size?

You are officially the most worthless person on this board
I think roughly the same size if not a little bigger but there is going to be terrain that you can't just walk over like you could in oblivion. And some areas are already leveled higher than you so you'll probably have a harder time with badies so it wilk take more time resulting in a seemingly larger area.
EDIT- lol. Above post @The_Aviator

it's supposed to be the same size as oblivion but I'm sure they will employ tricks to make it seem larger
as for crafting and enchanting here is a video, it doesn't really show the process but it give you a pretty good idea of what to expect

With regard to the video cosmic posted, I like how some of the skills have been combined but I dislike how the ui looks like it was designed with a controller in mind. I wish the level locked for ai to your character, I hope this new system does not make this game incredibly easy.

from what I've heard it doesn't necessarily lock to your level if you go into an area at level five it may lock the area to level 10 and there is supposed to be a bigger payoff fro clearing an area higher level then yourself
in a way I like this idea, It irritates me when I struggle in an area so I leave and level up only to come back and the enemies leveled up along with me
but at the same time it sucks when you are playing something like pokemon and you are walking around at level 70+ and are still stuck fighting level 3-5 monsters
hopefully the level caps will reset a certain points they've also said you can completely wreck a towns economy and/or legal system which as fun as that may be, at some point you will want it to return to normal

Skyrim hype is intense for me as well. I've been playing since Morrowind and was a bit disappointed with Oblivion. From what I've seen though (leaked footage) Skyrim will be well worth the $60.
I'm using a Bosmer specializing in archery, dual daggers, stealth and alchemy.
What's everyone else doing on their first play through?

Such a tough decision... I am mainly debating between Bosmer, Breton, and Nord. I think I am leaning toward Breton but I'm not sure yet. I'll end up deciding when I have to decide.
