Yep, the lower leaves all dropped and the highest canopy ones almost touching the light are doing fine, so it could be light too.
In my case though the yellowing was across a bunch of diff plants in the same potting mix, which leads me to believ it was at least in large part the mix. Your case might be different.

Oops, they look similar. Same tribe, different genus (they're both Stapeliads)
