I actually got called a creep, after the fact, for 'forcing' a girl to take a shot with me. I didn't hold her down, I didn't slip a roofie in it, I wasn't even seriously trying to get laid; we were at a party, she was cute, and I wanted her to have a good time, what is so wrong with that?

I cannot have deep conversation when I'm drunk, nor can I really become involved in a discussion with other drunks, unless it's sports or how big of a slut Jen Moody is, neither of which interest me much anymore. It just doesn't work. I like to chill out, maybe have a few good beers or a bottle of wine all night long to maintain a buzz, but that's about it.
Tonight I might start a fire, dose a glass of wine with THC, and relax on the comforts of my couch with a good book. Or start a fire outside and stargaze in brisk autumn air. Last weekend was wild as hell, so this weekend I must take her easy, mellow out over my small break and study my ass off. Alcohol kinda goes against all of those things imo.

Sometimes a lil bit of alcy in the system helps with anxiety, helps me to relax. The problem is that when I relax I assume its a good idea to have some more. The more I have the more I want to have. So a positive feedback loop is generated and I drink till I puke my guts out
A glass of red wine and a spliff will do it for me, thank you very much

ugh i hate people like this. one of my good friends is like this. He'll be drinking and he's all "hey man, want a brew?" and I'm all "nahh I'm good man, thanks" and he's like "what? nah fuck that, imma get you one, I know you'll drink it"....
I mean, yea I end up drinking the beer, but...*sigh*

It seems like all situations in this thread was someone at a party was encouraging you to drink alcohol. This happens with everything. If a buddy asks you, "Hey, want to go to the mall?" and you arn't feeling it, they will probably say something like "C'monnnnn." Is he forcing you to go to the mall? Or just encouraging you to?
I have never been forced to ingest any sort of anything. Also, this just doesn't happen with alcohol and you would be ignorant to think that. It seems like you guys are over reacting in regards to the word forced.
There's been times when I've been smoking with buddies and what not to the point of where I'de be way beyond good and decline another hit, and they say things like "PSHHHH BABY!" or what ever (just giving examples here). That is the SAME EXACT THING as someone "forcing you to drink" only in this situation it is marijuana and for some reason OK with some people, where when it comes to taking another shot is the devils work (rofl c wut i does?).
Notice the double standard here.
Now I love smoking and I very much enjoy drinking. Smokers should NOT trash on drinkers, and drinkers should NOT trash on smokers. Fucking let people do what they want and stay the fuck out of other peoples business.
I was never one to EVER fall for fucking peer pressure in my life. Not even when I was a little kid and it was even something like picking on the fat kid in class, or making fun of the retard. I would always be that kid to stand against the crowd. People need to GROW A FUCKING PAIR and NOT do things they do NOT want to do. Whether it be drink, smoke, or ANYTHING. I have also never forced or even encouraged anybody to do anything they seemingly don't want to do. If I ask you to go to the mall and you say, "Eh. I don't feel like it today." My response is "Alright dude, well hit me up if you wanna do something." Same goes with drinking. "Yo man, want a shot?" "Nah, I don't drink." "Alright dude, cool with me."
YOU live your life, not that asshole trying to get you to do something.

I don't think it is 100% with their drinking.
But honestly, this is just a STUPID mentality.
Look at it this way...
In highschool age groups it seems more people are liek this way (relatively, not exactly) with smoking. "PSH BRO YOU ONLY SMOKED AN OUNCE LAST NIGHT?? I SMOKED 2 AND I COULDNT EVEN OPEN MY EYES ROFL IT WAS FUCKING AWESOMEEEEEEE. SMOKE WEED OR YOU SUCK.
In college age groups, this shows in drinking. "PSH BRO IF YOU CANT CHUG A HANDLE OF VODKA YOU MIGHT AS WELL HAVE BOOBS."
The same concept exists with both substances, only in different age groups, for the most part.
A mature logical person should shrug this off as someone being an immature asshole.
