My parents raised me to be considerate of others and try to make their life a little easier or better if possible. So no, I do not throw my trash on the floor at the movie theater, I toss it in the trash can on the way out.

I think some of you guys are taking this too seriously. Imagine if a comedian were talking about this with the right delivery. Everybody would just be laughing.

No one's ever brought up ths golden rule to me. What else are the movie theatre workers going to do if you clean up for them? It's not like working at a movie theatre is labor intensive work, the floor cleaning is the worst part...

You must not realize how the movie theater business works.
Quote:
For instance, 2 movie theatre managers told me that for Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, the studio took 100% of the box office take for the first week of release.
But anyways, the only trash I leave on the floor are the beer cans or bottles. Kind of awkward to walk out of the theater and dump a bunch of empties in the trash. Although almost as bad is knocking the bottles over when you leave and hearing them bounce down a couple rows, "that sounds like daddy's garage" said the kid after a movie.

Eh not necessarily. This job has been around since movie theaters have been around (cleanup crew).
Kind of like how Bussers are around in restaurants. Unless you like taking your own plates glasses and other utensils back to the restaurant's dish room yourself... Cleaning up after yourself in theatres is just a request, it's not a rule.

Hey pris, weird question. This website was just displayed Backwards for a second (when I loaded this page). Any idea why? Text and everything, flipflopped.
And sealed concrete floors are easy to clean, leaving some trash on it won't ruin it, it gets cleaned right away, by the cleaning crew, who doesn't really do much except clean.

The difference is that a comedian is doing it for comedic reasons. Our impressions of Ethno lead us to believe he is serious.

Ethnobotanical said: Growing up going to the movies with my dad was an enjoyable experience. It was enhanced by the magical fact that it was the only place you could simply throw your trash on the floor when you were finished with the snacks you smuggled inside
22 years later, and suddenly my fiance drops a bomb shell on me! Its wrong to throw your trash on the floor! In fact its even frowned upon by movie theaters with most commercials before the picture saying "Please throw your trash away in the acceptable areas".
This is a fucking outrage. A blatant disregard by both my fiance, and the movie establishments on "The Unwritten Rule". One way or another im going to throw my fucking trash on the ground . I just got back from watching 50/50 (which was pretty good by the way ) and when I pay $18 for a fucking matinee (2 people)....you bet your ASS your going to be picking up my fucking garbage.
Anyone else feel like this? Was a raised incorrectly? Was such a norm non existent except in the eyes of my backward ass family?
Tell me im wrong!
I'm starting to find it hilarious how you always try to inspire negative feedback.
I guess you can be wrong and right depending on the view point but I'd have to go with the fact that its a pretty thing to do. I mean all you do is make some random fuck stay there and deal with your shit. Sure you've paid for that but I bet my ASS that you would sing a different song if you were the kid who is being paid to clean the theatre.
And besides is it really that difficult to throw your trash in the bin If you don't like what they charge then stay home, download torrents and take a shit and cum all over your floor
But then again I never ever go to theatres so feel free to ignore my opinion.

Hah I don't know man. If a comedian tells that story... I'm buying it. No reason not to, because as I said, I have done it myself as a kid, I can relate, therefore it is funny.

Meh. I wouldn't go so far as actually throwing trash on the floor but I usually do just leave the empty thing of popcorn and my drink on the seat. Lazyness + not being a complete douche = Win
Though it does irritate me somewhat whenever I hear people say things like "its not the janitors job to clean up after you". Yes it is. Cleaning shit up is the sole purpose of having a janitor.
-------------------- Men are born for games. Nothing else. Every child knows that play is nobler than work. He knows too that the worth or merit of a game is not inherent in the game itself but rather in the value of that which is put at hazard. Games of chance require a wager to have meaning at all. Games of sport involve the skill and strength of the opponents and the humiliation of defeat and the pride of victory are in themselves sufficient stake because they inhere in the worth of the principals and define them. But trial of chance or trial of worth all games aspire to the condition of war for here that which is wagered swallows up game, player, all. - The Judge
