Nice! Updates are definitely coming! I've got a ton of pics, just haven't been able to upload and post.
I have a cloning question though. Can I just cut off a branch to clone? I've heard you want at least 4" of stem cut just above a node. The growth on this plant has all been compact so I don't have a 4" section of stem to cut. I do have a few mid to lower branches that long though.

Day 39 (now in flower 12/12):

The cab is basically done, but I still need to bring the heat down a bit. Thinking of putting glass between the lights and plant.

The carbon filter is attached to a 200cfm blower mounted on top of the cab. Since it's only about 8 cubic feet of space I figured that would be enough to cool it down, but it still gets warm. I've been leaving the cab open when I can while the lights are on and that seems to be working pretty well. It's not a big deal though. I just got access to a much better grow space now. My buddy and I are about 80% done setting it up. I'll be putting this plant under a 600w hps soon

Last night I realized I've been screwing up big time with the nutes. I am using the FF trio and was adding 4 teaspoons instead of 4 TABLEspoons of big bloom per gallon of solution. I couldn't figure out why I was seeing signs of deficiency when I was feeding full strength, but now I realize I was under feeding the whole time I just gave her a proper feeding last night and hope to see some of these purple stems and yellowing leaves go away in the next few weeks now that her diet is closer to where it should be.
Also- based on pics I've seen on the net I think I have pistils showing. What do the pros think?

Any signs of being a hermy to anyone?
I forgot to take some wide shots of the plant since I got so excited that pistils were showing, but she is getting bushier. I've been doing some lst'ing using paperclips to pull the branches where I need them in an attempt to get more nodes and even growth. I'm amazed at how the leaves and branches begin turning towards the light within hours of being tied down. Mother nature is awesome

Nope. She's a girl, for now.

This is known as Heliotropism and it is cool. Someone needs to implement organic processes with solar panels one of these days.

This is my first grow so I don't really have anything to compare the smell to. The smell on this plant isn't overpowering but it's getting a little stronger each day. The carbon filter has been eliminating all odor so I don't smell it until I open the cab.
There is a second plant growing from the same batch of seeds that looks a lot different than this one in that it has much wider leaves and is growing a lot thicker. THAT plant definitely has some stink to it. I took it out of the cab for a few hours while I was doing some work in there the other day. My wife came home and started screaming that she could smell it outside of the house before she even opened the front door. That plant is still in veg and only maybe 8" tall so I can only imagine how bad it will reek once it's grown up! I can only hope that one will be female too. I can't wait to find out!
Edited to add pic of plant #2:

It has been my experience that the ones that stink in veg turn out female. also, indica dominant (characterized by wider leaves and denser growth) strains skunk up a place earlier on.
I learned that the females did this by logic, just because they tend to smell later in life, in makes since they are more prone, but also i have done some experimentation and learned you can get a pretty good profile from gently rubbing your fingers on the mainstem, bout halfway up, then smell your fingers, you can definitly tell some stink more than others, and at different times of day. When you have some seedlings next time, you should try and take note yourself, and see if you notice the same pattern. just a thought.

Im excited to see this cross-breed finish, probably not as excited as you lol. What sort of fragrance does it give off? Really heavy musky? Strong skunky? Strong fresh? I love growing widow, but I can't seem to bring my self to cross breed it, it's so beautiful haha.

I hope that turns out to be true in this case. The flowering plant had very little smell all through veg.

Interesting. I'll give that a shot next go around. I will probably just grow clones of this one and the other one for a while assuming that one is female too so that I don't even have to worry about males.

The flowering plant has a nice fresh smell to it. Plant #2 has a definite strong skunky smell to it. I'm dying to put that one into flower, but for now I threw it under the 600w MH at my buddies place. We decided to keep plant #1 in my little cab since it's well into flowering. The plants under the MH are all in veg and will be for a while. I found a little 150w HPS at HTG that should fit nicely into the cab- http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-FLORALUX-150w-HPS-Mini-Grow-Light.asp . I'm glad I came across this light since I was real close to getting a much more expensive LED light with fewer watts to keep the heat down.
I would have preferred a 250w+ light, but I haven't been able to find one with an air coolable reflector that will fit into my small cab. I'm hoping this baby does well in this small setup. Adjusting the plant height every day so that the cfl's are a few inches away has been a bit of a PITA. Already burned a few leaves/bud sites that grew too close to the bulbs. Hopefully this HPS does better with light penetration despite being 50 watts less than the combined wattage of the cfl's. We shall see soon enough.
I'll try to get some updated pics by this weekend. My light timer is set from 7am to 7pm and I haven't been getting home from work until after 7 so I haven't been able to get any shots. Well, enough rambling
