obama has said multiple times when asked that he will NOT be decriminalizing pot.
Exactly, back in 2004 he supported decriminalization, but he flip-flopped on the issue once he got elected...

yes, but the thinking was that obama had to flip-flop to get the much needed contributions from pharma and the prison lobby, and that he would screw them over when it didn't matter anymore.
still, i doubt it.

Legalization can only be done at the state level. Once all the states start doing it the federal government will have too.
The trick is getting the right people into office. There is a few states that are very close. California was close but I dont believe it failed because of the lack of enthusiasts. I believe it failed because it was poorly written.
Other States have California's idea in their grasp now. It just depends on who wants to make the big bucks bad enough.
