Ok so that might not be true.
But... Have you realized this? It was something i thought about earlier today. I notice this all the time. The girl will state if she has a boyfriend "sentence....my boyfriend....." I know guys will sometimes do this too but not even near as close to the amount and quickness girls do it.
1.)I first thought hey... maybe its to tell you they are off limits or they tell you because they arent interested in you.
This might be it sometimes but im almost absolutely sure that is not true all the time.
2.) maybe they just spend alot of time with their boyfriends.
This also is not always true, if you will notice alot of times the girl wont say oh a friend did so and so or this and that. But will mention a bf doing so and so or this and that and repeat it all the time.
Im sure there are many other reasons or possibly its just "not thinking" and blindly admitting the relationship.
Question 1:?
Now when girls do this, is it possible and maybe true that they are not aware that by mentioning a guy has them, that it is subliminally telling you to be even better, to show her that your a better choice??
Question 2:?
I will admit that i have a girlfriend when it is called for or i really had an interesting story involving so and so. Or literally like yea i live with my gf,if the question were to come up. But i dont always just flat out state some random sentence to bring her up. I kind of always keep my eyes open for potential girls that i might find myself even more compatible with. Not saying im going to cheat. But im looking at the bigger picture in the long run. And if i find a girl that im getting along with well, well i wont state i have a gf, in fact ill hold off on it to see where things are going.
Opinion. To me its a direct turn off if she has a bf. In fact i wont even bother talking to her much more unless it was some kind of short talk. I wont even come close to trying to know the girl more. I always just red mark them right away and move on.
IDK I DONT FUCKING KNOW.
Anyone have any comments, ideas, cool stories?

Girls know that guys are always thinking about how to get a step closer to banging them. I think 99% of girls simply say they have a boyfriend passively because they know almost all guys are constantly shopping and they want to inform those around them that they are not on the market without actually coming out and saying "hey you can't fuck me".

I wish I knew why man. I think different women have different reasons for bringing up that they have a boyfriend right away.
Cool story though, awhile back I was having a cig talking with some people who I vaguely knew from class. One of their friends who's a cute brunette walks up, I introduce myself and get back to my conversation with the people at the table. Out of no where she starts talking about how she had to drag her boyfriend off WoW to fuck her.
So I'm like aaalllriiight. I ask who her boyfriend is and she starts describing him
"Ya he's really tall and um.. I don't know he's reallly tall though"
I reply,
"Ya my girlfriend is really tall, she helps me reach fruit waay up in the trees"
That made her laugh, we ended up walking back to my car and had a little smooch before she had to go back to class.
Admittedly, I'm usually not that smooth..

You sound confused, perhaps you are overthinking things. Everybody has their own set of rules when it comes to sex and dating, and these rules are broken all the time. I wouldn't try to read into it too much, just do what it sounds like you're doing: trust your gut and try to keep an open mind.
I've also had girls go long times never mentioning they had a boyfriend, seemingly because they wanted something or other out of me (no, not sex unfortunately) which seems worse to me.

First of all, boyfriends are not usually too much of an issue. There are so many girls out there who always have a boyfriend. One guy is around until someone better comes along.
I don't think they necessarily say they have a boyfriend to get you away from them. I think they do it because it is a status symbol to them, because they are absent minded, and because their boyfriend doesn't have a name or identity other than "boyfriend." Constantly referring to "my boyfriend" is an indication to me that she is shallow and stupid.
If they are doing it to send a signal to you, it is to see how you react, not necessarily to get you to leave them alone. If you react correctly, maybe you will be her next boyfriend...

I think it's a 'preselection' kind of thing, the way girls flock to you if you are seen with just one other girl.

Theyre the kinda girls that are texting/doing whatever else on their phone when theyre alone in public. They cant stand the thought of somebody thinking less of them, so filled with insecurities to the point of pretending to be busy with somebody every minute of the day

if said for the reason of letting me know that they're "off the market", it's pretty insulting. i don't throw myself at everyone i meet, and who are they to think i want to fuck them in the first place? i've found this to be mostly early 20's age range behavior. like most other behaviors from women in this age range, i think a lot of it has to do with thinly veiled insecurity.

IME boyfriends don't matter. my ex had a boyfriend when i met her. she'd talk about him. i took her virginity and we dated for 3 years. then she went on to tell someone else about having a boyfriend. now i'm single.
boyfriend or not doesnt really matter. the dynamic of your interaction should be enough to gauge her interest in you.

I'm a bisexual male, and I instinctively do this with everyone I meet, male and female. I mention 'blah blah blah with my girlfriend' within the first few sentences of meeting some one.
You can spin it how ever you want (and that's a general you, not directed at any specific poster), but speaking from personal experience, I do it so I don't have to deal with being hit on and/or turning some one down. That and the simple fact that she's such a part of my life that if you're meeting me you should be aware that you're getting a package deal here, not just me.
I assume this is more prevalent with females than males because females are hit on more regularly than guys. In other words, a girl who's a 4 will get hit on a lot more than a guy who's a 7.

if they relate everything you say to something 'their bf' did or likes, you can probably smash, because he doesnt exist or they are not serious.
I think, (if you already know the chick personally) that this can acually be an invitation to make you want her more, the same way girls are attracted to guys that are in relationships... but in this way they want you to see them talk about their 'bf' the way theyd talk about you if you could get past the "can i fuck anytime soon?" mentality..

So your saying... Girls want everyone to know they are with someone (insecurity duh) and truthfully are saying they are fucking (undercover wise) and they will venture out if the goods are that good.???

i once had a freind who thought he was some sort of ladies man, until i introduced him to myspace(this was back in the day when it was new)
This dude took that thing to a whole new level, not only did he know exactly how to introduce himself to random girls, he knew how to keep them hanging on. He would even go so far as to create fake myspaces of hot girls and comment himself etc. to the point where he literally had girls crying over him in a matter of months, lame i know but it worked, he got laid alot to the point where one day he texted me out of the blue saying 'i wish i was dead to women' the dude even got dumb ass guys on there to send him money ...
Women really do like men in relationships already idk what it is, personally myself i would like to know from a girls pov because i dont like girls with bfs because all i think about is fighting them, then my whole mentality on girls with b/f is one, can i beat his ass, 2 is she worth it.. so sometimes it is important if you want to bang a girl with a bf to ask 'ffq' fact finding questions about the guy, but ONLY if your sure you can beat his ass and shes worth taking from him, but that you really wouldnt know until youve already gotten her number and been getting to know her..let the first couple my bfs go and wait a while to relate to him or change the subject.
you basically want to be that same guy but funnier with more diverse interests. and you want to be smarter also. you want to be and upgrade no matter how cool she makes him sound YOUR a better choice. but you can only do this by acually listening to her, but most girls that do that "my bf my bf my bf" thing dont have alot of other things going on to occupy their time wisely...
use your representative, Not the real you... even if your a downgrade, you make sure your her knight in shining armour, but just as busy fucking( to a guy this can be working or earning steady income) as her. the only difference is, you want something REAL, your tired of the same old boring hot women that only want you for one thing,... so be sure to let the girl know IF, the relationship topic ever comes up, that your not a piece of meat and your focused on your 5 year plan. But this shouldnt come up for weeks...
see the difference? the girl you want speaks of her bf AND the realtionship.
