For starters were wasting billions of dollars overseas, this all comes from the taxpayers money - I guess this isnt exclusively Obama but it happens with presidents who preserve the status quo. I think he is trying to tax the rich at a higher rate. Now I understand it makes sense in a way but in reality it could cause less jobs and a worse economy, cause think of it logically who is hiring minimum wage workers, so the taxing the rich thing actually backfires ultimately and is bad for business. So by socializing money I really mean redistributing the wealth, which I think is just bad policy. People shouldn't be punished if they're successful. I agree they should help out, but not by force from the government which is what it seems like Obama wants to do.
Ron Paul would lower corporate taxes and he wants to get rid of the income tax meaning you can choose how you spend the money you earn and even for foreign aid instead of government taking your taxes you can choose if you want to pay for foreign aid and to who.
The whole military industrial complex is a business though. War keeps a lot of people in business but ultimately whats the point of endless war? And again the wars are paid for by the taxpayers and IMO this is also robbery by the government if the majority of people don't approve of the wars. I'm about to pass out tho but those are just some ideas.

Too much wealth in the hand of the rich is bad for society, bad for teh economy, those people have an extra wealth for no reason other than to spend it on booze. Stop justifying your poverty, fighting for your priviledge is fighting for the good of mankind so shut the fuck up and fight will ya.

There is no reason to believe that if the rich make less money anybody else will make more. In fact the opposite is likely true.

Yet no data corroborates your claim. In fact, the data supports the complete opposite.

Ah I'm with Zappa on this one. Rich people hire more than people with less money it's just a fact. If you tax the rich to hell they may hire less people and prices might even go up higher, and it's been said a good percentage of people don't pay taxes these days and it's probably the lower income bracket who aren't paying taxes.

While I think the rich need to be taxed less, why didn't we see the largest growth in jobs in us history with the bush tax cuts? Taxes don't seem to correlate with job growth all that much.

It's important to remember that rich people/businesses can be parasites too. Through influencing politicians to gain loopholes, special tax breaks, crony capitalism, corporate welfare, etc. And the financial industry is subsidized by the government which they own, lock, stock, and barrel, and protected against losses (Too Big To Fail).
The U.S. is hampered by parasites at both the top and bottom of the financial strata. Most republicans are against socialism for the poor, but they sure love it for the rich and big business. Bunch of hypocrites.
In the meantime, the middle class serves as host for both parasites. Wealth disparity is growing. And the middle class is slowly being being sucked dry at both ends. Everything is fine until the parasite outgrows its host. When the middle class goes, democracy will go with it. Democracy cannot flourish without a healthy middle class.

Lowest taxes on high earners in decades, yet the largest gap between wealthy and middle class, and middle class to poverty.

ya I agree with zappa on this one. we probably tend to agree on economic matters anyway.
but this is just a sad truth of the system. the rich control everything.

How is that control? They are paying for stuff they want. Other people voluntarily produce the stuff they want so they can get something from the rich that they want, i.e. money. Which income is also taxed, albeit at rapidly diminishing rates as you go down the line.
There is an extremely large contingent of idiots who want to kill the golden goose. Who will pay for their precious government handouts then?
