 So I'm going to Portland, OR this week...

i'm heading to portland for my first time in a few days for only 3 nights to play some shows i got asked to play. i hear portland is an awesome place filled with much beauty, but it also is full of the the darker side of life with homeless junkies. i hear the portland dope is very good, so i think i will be trying to cop while i'm there. but i'm only used to copping in major cities such as san fran (where there's open markets), so i'm not so sure how that's going to turn out?
anybody have experience doing this in portland? how does it differ from other cities like SF and LA, both in terms of copping drugs and just the overall vibe of the city? anything i should look out for? any places i should check out while i'm wandering around there? i don't really do dope anymore (been on subs for 3 yrs) but i do still have an addiction of going to cop in cities foreign to me...

If you are in Portland Friday and you like Shpongle you should totally go to the Shpongletron Experience at the Crystal Ballroom. Also while you are there check out VooDoo Donuts. It's a cool little donut store! They have a bacon maple bar.

haha yeah i've definately heard of voodoo donuts. i'll have to check that out, but i'm not even sure where i'm staying in portland yet. is the city pretty big?

its pretty popular but definitely delicious!
I mean it really just depends on what you call a "big city". Its smaller than Seattle, a lot smaller.
Oh and get this vietnamise noodle soup called phu (ff-uh). It's cheap and delicious!

yeah i'm from So Cal, so LA to me is pretty big and SF even. i think so far i will be checking out hawthorne district, chinese gardens, powell books, and voodoo donuts.
also, i hear crime is more rapant in the nortern area of portland, so i guess that's where i'll be going to cop my dope? hahah i'm sure it won't be nearly as bad as copping dope in LA or SF though.

In my opinion Portland is a nice sized city. I don't live there but have been there a few times. Lived in Seattle and Cali so I know it definitely isn't a BIG city haha.
Yah all I can say with that is everyone smokes there. It won't be hard to find some green, or lsd if your lucky.
I'm heading there on Friday for the shpongletron experience. Its going to be awesome.

and i so wish i could go to the shpongle show on friday, but unfortunately i'll be leaving to SF for another show i have to play. and pretty much the only thing cop i'll be looking to cop in portland is the heroin as i'm from chico, CA and always have my ganja/LSD/psychs/etc...

I usually get offered to buy dope when i'm walking around downtown at night. Or it'd be easy to find out who could point you in the right direction. Just hang out for a bit. By day too I guess, someone I know just started pushing down in the city and says it's awesome but there are many dealers though.
Also portland isn't that big I guess but I would group all the neighboring cities where the majority of the population lives and that is called PDX which is pretty damn big.
If you want to find anything else I'd say the rave scene, I could point you to a rave during your stay where the drugs and chill people flow around like water.

yeah that's what i hear, to just take a walk downtown, and mainly ask the punk-homeless junkie kids... also, is there public transportation that runs late at night or early in the morning? i'll be with some other music producers i know playing the shows with me and i certainly don't want to be looking for dope while wandering with them...

Yes free downtown, the max rail goes all over PDX though. It cuts off usually around 1 and starts back up from 4-5 but only a few trains go through during those times.
Oregon/portland also have many many vials around.

There's a ton of smaller EDM festivals going on nearly every weekend here. This summer kicks ass. No cop problems to my knowledge too.
Last one I was at, if people needed drugs at our campsite they went to the guy with the megaphone and everyone got taken care of. Soo many good vibes too, oregon kicks ass in some regards. I have wuite a few friends down in Cali right now though doing just that and they love it there too

yeah i imagine portland has a very similar vibe to nor Cali, especially concerning the summer festies. and that's awesome that the public transportation is free! will definately be waking up early to go hunt for that nasty black tar haha. i have a feeling i'm going to like portland very much!
