Whats to know about it? I doubt theres anything I could discover about dubstep that would make me enjoy it.
Unlike when I used to hate metal, but now I listen to the lyrics and actually know a little bit about guitar/drums/voices I appreciate it a lot more and its my favorite genre.
What does dubstep offer besides repetitive bass thumping with random noises thrown in?

theres tons of great dubstep out there, just most of it is not super popular
dubstep back when it first started is drastically different than what it is now, most people who turly love dubstep and known it for a while argue that shit like skrillex and excision and datisk are not even dubstep, but a different genre, but i wont say it cuz i hate that word, im sure some know what i mean

How? I'm asking what I can do to appreciate it more. I gave examples on what made me appreciate metal more. I admit I don't know what it's about.

and all you can say is "man you don't know shit about dubstep" when the fact is that a lot of us have listened to A LOT OF DUBSTEP! It's all college kids listen to, and I've listened to like 1293156 dubstep songs that people have posted having this same argument. I didn't like any of them. I just do not like the genre, it is a simple matter of personal taste.
Dubstep sounds like shit to me.

Well pmb. You can start by knowing that there are actually other genres out there. They are so much different from dubstep its easily recognizable.
Such as house, trance, and drumNbass. Some of the sounds of dubstep doo hurt my ears sometimes lol. I only have a select few songs i like. But if you start listening to other EDM. you might find out that you like some.

Nope, I dont really care for this. I like electronic elements in music. I love Bjork, Radiohead, Portishead, etc. They have many electronic elements. It's more of the dance formula that I don't care for.

I'm only defending what the genre really is, and try to correct people when they consider the "dubstep" that they hear to be dubstep, when it really isn't.
