It's just like people who listen to the rap/hip hop on the radio, and say "I hate that rap shit"
It's because the main stream is garbage. But the real hip hop like Wu-tang, Nas, Lost Boyz etc. is the realness. Skrillex is like the T Pain of dubstep, or Soulja Boy.
The people who know what real dubstep is, want to keep real dubstep the way it is and low key, because there is nothing worse than people like Skrillex giving the genre a bad name, and people also don't want Skrillex fans finding out about Kryptic Minds and Lurka.

I think skrillex's flaw is the songs he picks for his samples. They're always like ... idk, more upbeat house/trance/idkwtf kinda stuff and then he lays it over with ridiculously wonky bass in a way that is totally incongruent. I mean, if you're gonna make dubstep, just make dubstep. I do like his wonkiness, but I don't like how he mixes it in with the other shit.
Mimosa is fucking awesome!
I think the most interesting dubstep is really more of the newer dubstep-influenced stuff. You know, the west coast EDM/hip-hop/dubstep stuff like Alex B (aka Paper Diamond), Big Gigantic, Pretty Lights, etc.
Dubstep is just a catchall phrase which refers to a HUGE diversity of styles.

Check out a song called "Any Day Now" by Elbow. I know it's 10 years old, but I just found them a few weeks back and totally dig that tune.
