I often feel like I'm in hell * 2
    #14654696 - 06/22/11 05:09 PM (1 year, 10 months ago)

At the moment I don't, really, but I often do.  As I get older things just get worse, and I don't see much good in the world day-to-day: lots of people wandering around suffering and ignoring others' even worse suffering.  Lots of pain and lots of dying or dead dreams.  I don't mean to spoil the good vibes, but I want to know: is this world a sort of hell realm?  What do you think?

I believe it can be 'heaven' for some and 'hell' for others, as if the terms are used to describe a mental/physical state of being.

I used to also recognize the suffering and feel for it, but once I truly believed there was reason for it, it seemed to dissipate.

What's the reason for it, in your opinion, if I may ask?

that's why spirituality is so important imo

like giza said, i think it varies with each individual what their karmic vision of life is

i think it's good to recognize this suffering though, instead of trying to mould life into a false utopian view - it helps build spiritual motivation and compassion for others - i would even say it's a blessing to see life this way, so long as one then makes effort to improve/transcend it for themselves and others

I hear you, but I had much more spiritual motivation when I felt things could be good someday.  Now I am pretty cynical and unmotivated.

Of course, I'll keep trying, but I think we are all Sysiphuses.

Have you ever had a trip with eyes shut when you see a vision of dead bodies like you see them in news footage and documentaries of the Nazi concentration camps? I have. Once some years back, I had taken magic mushrooms freshly picked, and I had eyes shut whilst listening to music and I felt myself being sucked into a whirlpool made of of masses of dead staring eyed corpses similar to how they are all intermingled together in Nazi camps. Imagine that!!! because as you know when you trip you dont see it as just minds-eye as usual, you feel you are really going into it, right--all around you. I totally freaked---but that was 'hell' isn't it. A hellish vision. It was a vision taking me down into the Underworld aspect of the Goddess which this culture greatly fears, and thus creates hells in actual life!

Now the horror of the NAzi camps etc has been an actual reality, and that reality affects our souls, our psyches, because everything is interconnected.

I once saw this amazing documentary years ago, and it was a guy being given LSD in an actual concentration camp grounds years after the war, and there was an interviewer asking him how he was feeling. He asked questions in a typical un-feeling 'objective manner, and the guy who was now tripping could see right through this act--this indifference--and direectly asked him why he was so cold and didn't he know it had to do with him to!

So what am I saying?

ALL the hells you are seeing in the world ARE real, and they affect us deeply--even when we pretend they dont, they affect our sub-conscious. These hells are happening because people cling to very dangerous beliefs, and will not explore their depths.

So for example if you hate women you make hell for women; if you hate gays you make hell for gays; if you are racist you make hell for those you hate; if you hate animals, nature, etc you create hellish places. And THAT is what is going on. The ACTUAL world is sacred, but because certain groups believe in divisive beliefs they make hells on earth. So wake up. Waking up doesn't suddenly make all the bad shit disappear but you are waking up and that is seeing through it, and theres a chance of encouraging a more intelligent and loving way of living on earth, with others, other species, and really caring for earth.

Reason for what? For you thinking your in hell?
Can you describe more so I can try and think of possible reason for it?

To add to the suffering part, think of it as a plague, once you feel for any sort of suffering you see or come across you will also suffer, so if you pay no mind to their suffering as in worry only about yourself I believe this should alleviate it.

If you believe their suffering is injust then that may be why you suffer also. Maybe it opens your mind to the possibility of actually suffering yourself.

you don't think some beings have had authentic spiritual realization?

imo the most important thing to do is to find a good teacher and let the rest unfold

Like Giza and others have stated I believe we as individuals create our own reality and in fact can make this world, this reality either blissful or hellish. I do believe that it is important to feel all feelings for what they are and not what you want them to be; by recognizing the suffering you liberate yourself from ignorance of living in it and are then able to observe it for what it is. In my opinion it is best to just live in the moment, in any case it is best to just stop, take a deep breath and observe. Follow your heart and you will find your way!

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

Reason for suffering..
Here's what I've come up with so far.

Suffering is more so man made, as in man brought suffering into this world
- Creating things that cause happiness but also suffering
- If you are "over privelaged" then become lower privelaged than you were, you suffer.

Spreads like a plague for example:
A family is struggling with affording their true needs, yet they still create children and bring them into their suffering.

Suffering is like the yin to yang, If your life is more privelaged than another you tend to feel as if they are suffering because of their lack of privelage.

Our recognition of suffering is very different from one to another.

Some see a homeless man on the street and feel as if he is suffering, but that man could also be at a higher state of contentment than the viewer is, meaning he isn't suffering at all.

Unless there is a certain connection we have to other living things that we feel their vibes and react with feelings.

yeah, for the most part. There isn't hardly a movie out there that doesn't involve some sort of superhero. It seems like humanity has always known that the abilities of a simple human won't suffice, and instead we really need someone above and beyond. I'm not betting that any person can ever save the world from it's problems, but I am betting that people will keep dreaming to the end.

One might think this makes sense especially if they think only humans inhabit this planet.  Once you see how nature itself works you realize however that its got lots of violence and consuming and being consumed.  Now other animals just accept this because they can't think about it.  It's not hell to them at all. Humans, due to how our brain has evolved can see the endlessness of the laws of nature and also that we ourselves decay and die.  Our ego or personality structure finds this offensive for certain reasons and so we think it's hellish.  Well if it is hellish then nature is hellish.  All this seeming nastiness is not just part of human experience.  It's natures way.

I agree, but the question could still be posed. Is this reality we find ourselves in the hell we make up in our minds? Nature is definitely full of chaos and destruction, some would even argue that the way we have evolved and the things we are doing today as far as modern society goes are all part of natural evolution.

I know you might have a hard time believing, and to me the possibilities are endless, but in my opinion there just has to be more to it then this!

We do make hell in our minds. That's the only place it exists.  And what cannot be part of evolution for biological entities?  We are animals, we hunt and kill, we devour what we kill, we shit it out and then look for some pussy. This is all natural to living things.

I know you might have a hard time believing, and to me the possibilities are endless, but in my opinion there just has to be more to it then this!

Oh I believe you think it.  The question is why?  Is it because somewhere inside you agree that life is hellish and you are desperate to believe that it is not as it appears?  This imo is why most people believe in things that have no real evidence. It's just too painful not to.  It takes a full on warrior to look life in the eye and be neutral.
