I didn't say it does. I was poking fun at how much people are berating Boomer over something he's already admitted was stupid and regrets doing.

ding ding ding.... we have a winner.
5 bucks says he's been doing this for awhile, seems like he is well aware the only way to get home from the bar is to drive, and the way he types out the story kind of implies he has done this before quite a few times and that the only remorse he feels is that he got caught for looking straight fucked up in public, obviously enough for the employees to call the police. You gotta be drunk as shit for that to happen.
I bet if he didn't get caught, he would of kept doing it too. Go ahead and lie and say you wouldn't..
We all know its bullshit.

The only reason why he regrets it is because he got caught. I bet you the other times he did it he didn't feel regret, I bet he got that hamburger or taco all the other times and went home happy.

These types of arguments are complete bullshit, b/c you're automatically assuming you know details about a situation you don't, and also that you have some sort of secret access into op's thought processes that allows you to infallibly say what he has or will do, and how he feels about doing those thangs. I don't think anybody really regrets something they did until they've had some sort of negative consequence to make them reassess their actions. Otherwise they wouldn't do it in the first place.

I have called the cops on more than a few drunk drivers in my time. I probably saved someones life by doing so and feel awesome for doing it. People that drink and drive should have their licence taken from them for no less than 10 years.

No, it isn't bullshit. Keep telling yourself that. I'll stop being a dickhead when drunk drivers revive my friend, oh wait, hes dead and he isn't coming back.
I assume to know details? The only fucking details I need to know is he was FUCKED UP in a car DRIVING. So no, I'm not going to stop being a dickhead. -KTHX, Uzziel

See some people would automatically give you shit for that, but I see where your coming from. I don't agree with involving law enforcement unless it's absolutely necessary, but I guess in your experiences it has been. As far as having the license taken from them for a decade, I would disagree. Our entire criminal justice system is fucked and has less to do with what you did, if you learned your lesson, and if you are likely to make better choices now- than it does with who you are and how much you can spend to get out of trouble. No easy answers on this one, but you and lot of others seem to think drinking and driving is a non forgivable action- and while it is incredibly stupid, I again disagree.

He supported the joy ride, let ryan go over 100, was probably drunk as shit too. I know they both have the money to get a taxi too, so fuck them.
I can only assume he drives drunk too if he would go in the car with a drunk driver, I know I wouldn't.

If you are stupid enough to get behind the wheel of a car intoxicated then you have 0 good judgment and need to take some time to grow up and think before you act. I would say 10 years with no licence would give you time to think about it. Besides, 10 years with no licence will show you how serious drinking and driving is. I was going to say it should be revoked forever, but most people do grow and develop over time into people that aren't so stupid as they were. Think how dangerous drinking and driving is and how much death and destruction it causes. It's completely avoidable but people do it anyways. I say those people that can't stop and think about what they are doing behind the wheel of a car need to have a real eye opener. If you do it after that then your licence should be taken forever. Life is to precious to let some asshole with booze in him to drive down the streets endangering everyone.
If I saw someone drunk trying to get into his car I would try to stop him, but if he wanted to anyways I might kick the shit out of him. I don't have a single bit of tolerance for people that can't control themselves and endanger others because they want to get fucked up. I love getting fucked up, but I wouldn't EVER endanger another person because I wanted to have some fun. People that disregard others like that don't need to be on the road anyways. They are dangerous to themselves and others and should be stopped.

Why pretend to know how someone feels? Re read this thread and tell me if you think that OP thinks he made a good decision. Albeit responses from all angles should be expected on the interwebz, but you aren't being a dickhead b/c of your thoughts on the issue, but rather b/c you are coming into this issue with emotions rather than logic. You haven't broken a law or made a mistake that could possibly endanger anyone else I guess? Oh wait drunk driving is more than just a mistake right?
I'm sorry your friend got killed by a drunk driver. That does suck. But our society loves to blame people for stuff they haven't done yet. Could op have hurt someone? Yes. Did he? No. Should we wait for such an action to happen or not? Probably not. But the way consequences for such actions are setup are retarded and can ruin peoples lives even when they have not hurt anyone. I don't support drunk driving, and I'm not saying I have the answers, but our entire legal system is outdated and draconian, and I know it could be structured better in order to actually help people (who don't already understand how they fucked up) instead of locking them away to be a drain on our economy and the population when they get out without any plan, or new perspectives.

I would make it my personal mission to make sure that McDonalds and all of the employees in it are aware that their work lives are going to be shittier because of me every chance I get. Nothing illegal or anything, but damn if they aren't going to have to clean up a bunch of spilled shit, get orders wrong several times in a row even when it was right the first two times, etc. You know. Fucks 'em up mang. I'd keep going 'til they got a restraining order on me. Since McDonald's is a franchise all you gotta do is find out which other McDonald's the owner owns and harass them 'til you get banned from all of them.

you are embracing all the negativity and hate mongering. sorry your friend is dead, it is something that happens.
there is no black and white when it comes to drugs, the person who killed him might have had 3 beers in 2 hours and was just tired. god forbid they actually have a tolerance to alcohol and don't even loose the shakes until they are over the limit, but actually function fine.
maybe you should join MADD, you would fit in their well.

The only way the Mickey D's employees would've known that you were drunk is if you were acting like a total slob drunk, slurring your words, stumbling around etc.
If you were that drunk, there is no reason why you should've been driving.
No sympathy for drunk drivers.
