 Newest Bamboo Pipe! It's been a while...  3

Hey, So school is over, and it's time to get the pipe making back in full swing!
Here is the newest one, which will soon be up on my website when it's done.
The stem is bamboo. The bowl is african blackwood with apple wood ring. The lid and other red accents are made from padauk. The light brownish yellowish wood is sycamore, which has a really neat grain. All the pieces are interlocking for superior strength. The tiny white pin holding the hinge to the bowl lid is tagua nut, which is a lot like ivory. The inlay on the end is actually a stone that i found on the beach...i think the patterning matches well with the grain of the wood..
Also, the inside diameter of the bowl is larger than the top opening, the inner walls of the bowl are more pear shaped than straight.

Wow, why is everything you make so god damn nice?
This pipe makes me think of opium dens and chinese people.

Goddamn beautiful. I couldn't even own that pipe, because it would make everything else in my house look like shit by comparison. I don't know if you plan to sell this, or your other pipes, but if you are going to: do not charge less than $65 for that thing. You would be robbing yourself.

The yellow color is because of my camera, it's white soapstone.
I have plans to make some more out of all kinds of colorful soapstone and maybe sell some.

Cool man! How does that soapstone taste and smoke? I've always thought that it would be hard to carve that stuff... maybe i'll pick some up and see for myself..

It smokes great, i haven't noticed any additional tastes at all.
Different kinds of soapstone are tougher than others, the white stuff is usually relatively soft.
It took me 2 days to make that one all with hand tools.
It's a but tedious, but it's just a matter of time 
I'm pretty sure it was easier than making ones like you do though,.
I could make several per day if i had the proper power tools.
