Just an update on my flowering Sally plants. I'm noticing that the anthers dont seem to be producing a great deal of pollen. I know for example on a flowering poppy plant, the anthers become laden with pollen and its quite obvious to the naked eye. Im not seeing that with these Salvia plants. I dont know if that means Salvia.divinorum produces much less pollen or whether the anthers just aren't maturing properly.
Anyone know how much pollen sallies produce? Should I be able to see it forming clumps on the anthers? Or should I just accept that it's there and get down to the business of wiping the anthers against the stigma?
Id like to be able to take better close ups but I dont have a hard core macro lense unfortunately.

its hard to see a lot of pollen idk about sally tho
i would say pull a few of those flowers, and throw em in a bag
incase swabbing them doesnt do the trick
maybe try both around the same time tho, so you dont miss any windows you have to make

I'd say keep pollinating every flower at least once a day, worst case scenario you get really good at pollinating maybe pull one flower off and rub it on all the others, it may grab some pollen from the other flowers and transfer it well.
It's crazy how similar salvia flowers look to one another. I snagged a couple seeds from a nursery today from some purple flowered salvia, it's neat how they stay in that pod. Best of luck!
-------------------- I challenge you to challenge yourself more! When you feel complacent and ready to hang it up, challenge yourself to get over it! If you fail, don't look at it as you didn't succeed, look at it as you would a rock face you're trying to climb. Stand back, wayyyy back, and look at it and plot another path. If you can't find one, shuffle down the way a little, a little change of scenery or a view from a different angle may give you the insight you need.

Nice! Let me , lol, or us know how the seeds work out! Of course, those of us that know this plant know that the seeds so far have been almost impossible to spread. I hope that somehow, someday we can get a viable seed strain to spread across the planet!

I wonder if the species can be crossed. They'd have to have an even set of chromosomes to spread half, but it'd be cool if they could. I lost those seeds, but I'll go back and snag some pods, the ones I got were like half white so I don't know if they had matured yet.
