 Diphenhydramine Trip - Unreal

Alright, this is my first time on here, and my first DPH trip ever. I did this secretly at my friend's house with his parents home, thinking i could get away with it. I did, but barley.
WARNING: DO NOT DO WHAT I DID AND ATTEMPT TO SECRETLY DO THIS AND EXPECT TO GET AWAY WITH IT. LOOKING BACK AT THE EVENTS, I MUST HAVE LOOKED LIKE THE BIGGEST IDIOT ON DRUGS.
Pills: CVS Nighttime Sleep Aid (Active Ingredient = Diphenhydramine)
Dose: 24 Mini-Caplets (25mg x 24 = 600mg)
Intensity: 600mg = High Dose = Intense Trip
1:00AM - Taking the DPH
Alright so its 1:00AM, and i take 2 caplets at a time, and down 24 in about 10 minutes with some coca cola. Immediately after finished the dose i feel a little light headed, and slightly drowsy. I was pretty hyper just because i was excited.
1:45AM - Small Effects
I start to get pretty tired, and im just sitting down next to my friend (totally clueless i took the pills, and is MUCH more tired than me already and falls asleep around this time).
1:45AM - 2:45AM - INTENSE Kick In
Between this time is when you can literally feel the DPH kick in almost pill by pill. What i mean is that it is fast yet very distinct. As each minute passes, you noticeably feel more and more tired and confused.
2:45AM - 3:30AM - The Trip Begins
Alright, so i had NO clue it would be this hard to stay awake. I only had 1 small Redbull and a bottle of water. But anyways, now we get to the slightly interesting stuff:
Spiders
Alright so the first thing i saw, and expected, was spiders...Lots of spiders. I looked behind me, and saw some BIG white spiders and black spiders. They would come out of walls, come down from ceilings, it was intense. There were many small black ones too, crawling over me, the walls, the floor, and everything else.
Trails
Another thing i noticed was when i was looking at my friend's Xbox light, and looked away, it left a trail of light. However the trail disappeared slowly, unlike the usually trails humans see every day.
Walking
Walking was near impossible, maybe even harder than walking while being drunk or wasted. It wasn't so much the fact that you couldn't balance (although this was a factor), but the fact that you felt so heavy, and so tired, that you would have to use SO...SOOO much energy to lift your legs to move.
3:30AM - 8:00AM - Passed Out
So yeah. I didn't have enough energy drinks to keep me up, and no one to help me stay up, so i ended up passing out, somewhat to my relief.
8:00AM - 9:00AM - The REAL Trip
Alright so this is where i lose my mind. I get up, and i start bugging out. I'm like, "oh shit, that was intense. Good thing it's over, but not i gotta call my mom and tell her to pick me up". So i call and she says she'll be there soon. I start to pack my things, but it is VERY hard to concentrate and find my things. I look outside and notice a car that does not look like my mom's car, but i thought for some reason maybe it was my brother (By the way i don't even acknowledge the fact that the DPH may still be in my system). So i go outside, say bye, and approach the car. I did this slowly though because i see an old lady picking things out of my friend's trash can. As i approach the car, the lady seems to disappeared, but i didn't really acknowledge the fact that she disappeared. I go up to the car, and i see that it is my brother's wife. I go up to the car and smile, while she keeps a straight face (this is a little unusual, because she usually is excited and happy to see me). I go up to the car, and she disappears in front of my eyes. This worries me sick.
I back away from the car, and see her re-appear. Again i get closer, but this time she like melted into the seat and disappeared, which gave me a sense of fright and total confusion. I quickly decide I'm just tired and go back inside to tell them my mom hasn't showed up yet. His parents probably thought i was nuts. I went back downstairs and see my girlfriend and her mom sitting on the couch, and at first thought that this was normal. Except my girlfriend and her mom would NEVER EVER be at my friend's house. I realized i didn't have my phone on me, so i tried to look for it, and i found it on the chair. I tried to pick it up but it melted into the chair and turned to just a picture on the chair. So no matter how many times i tried to grab it i couldn't pick it up. And eventually the more i tried the more i would erase the picture, until the phone was totally gone. So i go back out side, and go back to the car. I see two guys in another car, and they disappear too. I go back the the car with my brother's wife in it, and she disappears again. At this point i finally realize i am still tripping, and I'm totally lost. I got back inside AGAIN (by now they probably think im nuts). I try to get myself together. I look at my friend's black leather chair and little black spiders just literally pour out of it. I also realize that i am EXTREMELY dehydrated, and have what i think is a soar throat because its so dry. Anyways, i realize i need to get my white sweatshirt. So i go downstairs and find it and there are bunch of X's on it, just all over it, i didn't know at the time that i was seeing trippy patterns on my sweatshirt that weren't there. Right next to the sweatshirt is a white blanket too. So i grab the white blanket and I start to try and rip in half, thinking that my sweatshirt is tied to the blanket. I keep telling my friend that i can't untie the sweatshirt from the blanket. To be honest, i don't even think my sweatshirt was there, or my friend...but i just don't know. So FINALLY my mom gets me. As i walk to the car all the same people are there, in their cars, and they all disappear as i get close to them.
While we are driving home i hear my mom talking to herself vividly, and even see her mouth move. I said "what'd you say?" and she said "i didn't say anything at all". This kept happening but to be safe i ignored anything she said unless i actually asked a question first. We finally got home, and they left again. I took a shower while they were gone, and i did not really expect this trip to last much longer. It was about 11:00AM now. While in the shower my dad comes in and looks in the shower (yes this is fucking weird obviously, and I always lock the bathroom door). So i tell him to get out, and i watch him leave. But he just vanishes (another incredibly realistic hallucination). So i get out of th shower and get upstairs. I sit in front of my computer and look at the wall with full focus for about a minute. Lines of smoke were streaming from the floor up. And the wall started making little spinning whirlpool looking patters up and down the wall. This was really interesting. I then focused hard on a door stopper (the spring ones), and it started to twitch in all directions and turned into a giant tan spider with a bunch of little spiders coming out of where it was attached to the wall. There were also spiders coming out of my chair (little black ones) and out of where the ceiling meets the walls.
I went to get a snack, and opened my fridge. I stared into the fridge for a good 10 minutes, because i thought that my parents had come home and i was talking to them, asking them what they bought from the supermarket. After the 10 minutes i snapped back to reality, which almost felt like the feeling when you are dozing off, and you wake up quickly. So i realize no one was there, and go back in my room. I go on facebook and see that everyone pictures are moving, but really moving. Like sometimes on a normal day i can stare at a picture really hard and think i see little movement, but i could see like people talking ,and the pictures were liking talking to each other. It was weird.
The rest of the day was filled with similar situations, but not too vivid. For example i was sitting in front of my computer, and my environment felt like it changed to a class room. This was more of a very quick but realistic dream, but the hallucination part of it wasn't very strong. The remainder of the day was this sort of confusion and day dreaming, along with the smaller hallucination aspects of the trip (spiders, moving pictures, smoking walls). I finally went to bed at around 9PM, because the DPH was just killing me.
So yeah, i fell asleep, but i still got the idea of just how realistic and intense these trips get. Like i said, and im sure you have figured out, it is EASY to get caught. I mean i literally got lost, i just did not know what to make of the vanishing people. It was all so real, but i kept my cool and just acted the best i could. But im sure grabbing for object that aren't there, claiming a giant blanket is glued to sweatshirt, and trying for 10 minutes straight to pick up a phone that isn't there, must REALLY look stupid. And if i were my friend's parents, id be questioning my ass until i admitted i was on drugs. Because its definitely obvious xds.
I will be doing this more often, but with friends who do it too, and with no risk of getting caught. People say its scary and unpleasant, but as long as you know you wont get caught, and you have people there to help calm you down, you will just have a fun and confusing time, and feel like your in another universe. Just have plenty of caffeine to help keep you up.
I hope i helped people really understand how this trip is. For me, it was just so unreal...

haha. Deliarants not too much fun.
Couple things I noticed:
1) I would say %98.99 of the people on this forum are 18+ and don't sleep over at friends houses and have to get rides from our parents or have to worry about getting "caught". Not a good idea man especially since you didn't know how you were going to react.
2) You just ate a whole box of nighttime sleep-aid. You didn't think it was going to be that hard to stay awake, huh?

Yeah.. real psychedelics are much better then this, but I gotta be honest. Ive done this a few times when I was 17. I had about 6 shit trips, and 2 good ones. After that I would take 10 tops for sleep/benzo calmness.

Dramamine is a mixture of what the OP took and 8-Chlorotheophylline, which is a stimulant. So it's a lot like Dramamine, except it is a lot harder to fall asleep on Dramamine.
OP, my underage friend, if you do want to repeat this experience without falling asleep (although I can't see why you would), take Dramamine.

A few things that need to be said:
1. Did that sleep aid also have acetaminophen in it? If so,  .
2. Diphenhydramamine is a good sleep aid and can be relaxing and slightly trippy on low doses. High doses can be dangerous.
3. I suggest some real, good old fashioned, traditional psychedelics.
Mushrooms, acid, DMT, mescaline, even salvia.

Your trip from 8:00AM and on was almost identical to my strongest Datura stramoinum experience. The sequence of hallucinations and the people that you were hallucinating were almost identical.

Could you explain why that would make the trips so similar?
I understand that Datura and Diphenhydramine are anticholinergics (and am well aware of their effects); but, I fail to see see how them being so influenced who we hallucinated and what order we hallucinated them in during the trip.

Wow, that is a hell of a story. I think it would be fun to see full blown hallucinations but materializing people who aren't there and never being sure what is real when you are going about an otherwise normal day sounds like a bad mindfuck to me!!!

i enjoyed this story. deliriants scare the fuck outta me, never tried em, never will but their soooo fucking interesting.. just how complex our brains our.. this drug could explain that our realities could just be all our own minds making it up.
i also find it interesting outta all the trip reports ive read with these tropane chemicals.. the writer always tells about.. class rooms, spiders, occasionally bees, phantom people, smoke, shadows, phantom cigarettes and some audio hallucinations. its so interesting to read about.

Aw, poor guy picked some of the worst substances to try out with an interest in psychedelics...Now he will be turned off of them forever. Oh well sounds like he learned something. Who knows, he probably would have come to the same conclusions if he had taken LSD and mushrooms (but I kinda doubt it). Sounds like a positive outcome. I'm sure there are more horrifying diph reports to be found in there...Any with the hospital or police involved always turns out a nightmare. I like reading datura trip reports but i would NEVER eat it.

Pretty unnerving trip there.
The idea of deliriants had fascinated since before I even knew what a 'deliriant' (i.e. one of three sub-categories of hallucinogens) were.
Specifically on movies( moreso mindfuck movies like House at the End of the Street) and especially tv commercials (Nicoderm CQ---Who knew that using transdermal nicotine would result in little persons dancing on the table in front of you??), all too oft the protagonist will have seemingly vivid, realistic hallucinations. I realize that the writers for these movies and commercials use these 'hallucinations' more as a device similar to internal monologues or soliloquies in Shakespeare plays, but pretty commical at the same time.
You mentioned staring into your fridge for, in your estimation, ten minutes, in a trane state believing at the time that you were conversing with your parents. This reminds me of a scene from the movie 1408 in which the protagonist is staring down the freezer part of a refrigerator in a supposedly haunted hotel, as the hotel manager stared back at him with demonic eyes at conversed as well, down a tunnel of ice spilling over into the actual hotel room. That whhole movie seemed likened a deliriant trip from Hell.
"And the worrrrms ate in-to his brain..."--Hey You (Pink Floyd). Granted, Syd Barrett's psychosis was brought-on by heavy prolonged daily use of LSD (and probably a preexisting case of skitzophrenia), but the image seems more common of [deliriant-induced ]delirium.

OP I suggest you do this in a situation where you cannot get caught, but I assume you learned that all on your own.

I remember the first few times I tripped on that shit, I had trouble staying awake, especially during the beginning of the trip... then after awhile it was the exact opposite, I couldn't fall asleep no matter how bad I might have wanted to... even still to this day, taking small doses for the purpose of sleep, will instead keep me up at night, very frustrating feeling.
I used to do high doses of that shit a lot, to get fucked up... even sat in the back of a cop car hallucinating my balls off (still let me off, and yes it was real, coulda been much worse  )
