i mean i don't necessarily get irritated with them.. but it's fucking annoying when people bitch about the awesome music i like and think it's just a bunch of noise. or even worse when listening to it bugs them to the point that they can't just shut the fuck up and be in the moment

I understand dubstep perfectly. I don't like it at all, or most electronic music in general.
I have friends that will trip and sit in their rooms for hours on end with dubstep blasting. How they can do that or even find it remotely enjoyable is mind boggling. I would have an absolutely hellish experience doing that. But they do their thang, and that's fine.

Here's my problem with dubstep. It seems to me that dubstep is the new "It-craze" among the psychedelic community. I can get down to electronic music it's just most dubstep sucks.
What happened to the days when if you were interested in Psychedelics you went to a Grateful Dead concert or something. I just feel the psychedelic community reached it's peak in the 60s and its just been going down hill ever since, culminating in the flaming shit pile of sound known as dubstep.

I don't know I have heard one dubstep song that I liked, I since forget what thread and who it was. Oh well.
But this topic is kind of screwy. I mean you could say:

I used to like it but that coincided with dabbling in k. Haven't done k in a while and alas I haven't listened to dubstep either.
No way would I listen to it tripping on acid or anything,much too harsh and repetitive.

I get more annoyed by how so many people are like "have you heard about this awesome new music called dubstep, its brand new, I just found out about it, isn't it cool?" When in fact dubstep has been around for half a decade. I personally loved dubstep right when it started getting popular because i'd never heard anything like it, lately though, too many people are doing it. Kind of a cluttered genre and since its pretty damn easy to use a LFO, its kind of an easy genre to replicate, albeit the replications are usually garbage. That being said, Ikonika has some dope-shit out recently and the post-dubstep shit like mount kimbie and james blake is AMAZING, but that'll probably get overdone soon as well.

No one likes being forced to listen to dubstep.
Usually, people who are fanatical about a certain band or song will go around trying to force feed it to everyone,
That shit gets old.
I've got a brother that is a few years younger, and he's constantly trying to turn me on to whatever kind of shit he's into at the time.
I try to keep an open mind, but when I hear this shit and decide I don't like it, he just moves on to the next powder punk, emo, dubstep song and gets irritated that I don't want to waste my time listening to music that has no appeal to me.

dubstep is the only music that some people seem to spaz out over hearing, when it's presented to them in a non-forced manner
you'll never catch me throwing a fit in someone's car because they have shitty classical or country music playing, that's their music preference and i'll respect that.
but some people just have to throw a fit because they aren't able to understand what they're hearing

I entirely understand dubstep, I just so happen to think it's the most overrated and stale genre or music out there right now.
Sometimes I think people that only listen to dubstep (i know plenty of these people) don't even realize the elements involved, because it really isn't mindblowing from a musical standpoint.
