I have a life, the thing about elder scrolls is though, when you run into someone who played through an entire game, they light up, the game is that good, I made an instant friend with a guy who I thought I had nothing in common with that way. He's a motor head who works on cars all day smokin cigs. I was like... You ever play video games? Ever play oblivion?
He instantly looked me in the eyes and was like "FUCK YES, no one I know even knows what the elder scrolls is."
half hour convo about thievery ensues.

My only fear is them trying to make it user friendly, very mainstream and shit. I want it to be the grittiest game yet. No F-bombs that would take me away from the immersion but I don't want it to be kid friendly.

Oh definitely man. There was nothing like turning on the game and doing NOTHING. Just wandering around with beautiful skyscapes to stare at and monsters to kill.
Were you good or evil?

I was good once and evil the other time
Being evil is more fun because I liked playing as a thief. Be nice to people, pick pocket, if they catch you, kill them, steal their shoes and spoons.

Yeah I KNOW exactly what you mean. I hope that the dialouge is somewhat civilized and more diverse than anything fallout has tried to do. If they are getting ideas from the fallout games then it is doomed. When I play I want to feel as if I am in the past in another world and everything is different. That is how I felt in morrowind. Oblivion sort of made it more earth like but still did a great job pulling it off.

I could never fully get into Oblivion. Morrowind stole my life though. Plus im glad i have a game to feel smug about towards the oblivion fanbois because I WAS THERE!

I do like the Vats system though. I'm jaded really. I think Oblivion's voice acting blows, the character design is ugly and the gameplay is garbage and yet its still the best game of all time.

Yea it makes me feel like I'm wandering 13-14th century germany with the guilds and shit but in another universe. The Elder Scrolls universe is pretty fucking cool.
Each time I played through I set up shop in a different home and lived there, my last time I lived on the pirate ship in the bay because theirs so much storage for..... spoons.

I honestly wouldn't mind if they removed the voice actors and just made you read, I read it anyway and the voices in my head are more entertaining.
The thing about oblivion is that outside of the story line their's so much random dumb shit to do, but it's fun when you're bored. My brother had it on his computer and he was collecting one copy of every book in the game and putting it on a book shelf, he had so many books, look how many fucking books there are: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Books
And that's a part of the game you never even have to bother with.

Exactly. You have such a choice. I never bothered with alchemy but my cousin was insanely into it. I almost want to pop it back in now...I just feel like the load times are going to turn me away.

I sometimes wish there was a co-op option. I don't want it to be an MMO, but like Fable how you can run around with someone else. I'd just link up with a friend, knowing there's another human running around is just cool.

Morrowind was a red only game. It gets hard to keep up with it. Especially if you are stoned and you just want to listen and not try to read.

alchemy is crucial. there are tons and tons and tons of free ingredients everywhere. no matter what character i'm playing, i'll make a point to simply pick up free food and ingredients as i pass. it all adds up very fast. then you just churn out like 50-200 potions real quick that you can sell for like 10 bucks a piece. and alchemy is one of the easiest to carefully regulate the leveling of, so it works to makes sure you increase your intelligence 5 each level.
also, poison + arrow + stealth makes for smooth sailing in dark dungeons. they'll die before they find you.

Gee.. I wonder why shroomerites would enjoy alchemy so much in fictional fantasies, maybe because real life is the same thang.
