 PF TEK experiment in bags...need some advice

ok well i was experimenting on a way to increase my yields. i pressure cooked some jars of brf/verm mix minus the dry verm layer(1/2 pint). I took 2 jars of sterile substrate and dumped them in a zip lock bag(fresh out of the box) and then took a fully colonized cake and threw it in the bag as well. (i worked very quickly and as sterile as possible). i broke everything down real good, poked a hole at the top of the bags with a sterile syringe needle and let it sit. I used 8 fully colonized cakes...so basically i turned 8 jars into 24 jars. well its been about 10 days and everything is white and looks great. the logs of pftek are beginning to get fuzzy with big cottony mycelium. I was going to wait until the logs just started to pin (like after i see the first couple) before i dunk and rolled them. Will the logs begin to fruit in the bag like cakes fruit in jars when their ready? thats all I've been wondering because its been 10 days. im worried about my project going bad if i leave them in the bags to long.

yea...I've been calling them logs because they look like logs. its a pint and a half of colonized substrate in the bottom of Ziploc bags.

wow, I cant believe ya got that to work. when I do pf jars, I just take the lids off, spray them down a little, and stick them in the fruiting chamber, still in the jars. Then I wait for them to pin, and I berth and dunk. So I would say do the same with your logs. I would open up the bag a little so It can get fresh air. Then I would stick them in the fruiting chamber, until they pin. Then give them a dunk, and your good to go.

I had a friend that couldnt believe i got it to work either but i dont understand what is so hard to believe about it...people use a tek like this with rye and wbs all the time with no problems. it works the same way except you dont mix the bag during colinization. you mix real good and let it sit and it all grows together. Im setting up my FC now for my logs. logs are currently dunking. they will go into the fruiting chamber tommrow.

Im saying it,because it requires alot of sterility, to not get contams. And when noobies fuck around like this, it usually ends in disaster.So Good to see that you pulled it off. Its sort of a pf tek to bag transfer. That shit can be easy to mess up, especially for beginners.And the fact that you used a shitty ass ziplock bag, instead of a filter bag, has got me amazed.

you dont "have" to use the special stuff for doing this stuff. the mushrooms dont care about your fancy bag you overpaid for. the mycelium will colonize the substrate in the bag before any contam gets a foothold as long as you do everything as cleanly as possible. i sprayed the hell out of the room i was in with Lysol 10 Min's b4 i started...so yea the air was pretty sterile. i wrapped the bag around the jars and popped the cakes into the bag. i didnt just have my bags wide open and i did everything in a sterile glovebox. Also my growing space is very very clean.

you'd be better off spraying very mild bleach solution.
or oust.
or just clean water.
it traps contaminants and brings them to the floor.
where the wetness keeps them trapped

i use 99% alcohol with water and spray it everywhere it works very good

I had 24 jars and tried the same thing put 4 half pint jars worth into 2 ziplocks with a tyvek patch on them and then crumbled 2 cakes into them in my glove box its been 3 weeks and I just dunked and rolled my "logs" so far no contams but I did turn 2 half pint jars into 2 pint and a half logs we will see how they fruit.
